  2. Something to add, my mpg is not good (18 mpg with normal driving) and I notice a loss in horsepower. Also on occasion I notice a strong smell of gasoline when I park the car after fueling up. It usually goes away after I put a few miles on the car. This happens about 1 out of 20 times and only when I fuel up. I’m not sure if it’s related to my problem or not.

  4. Requesting code, 2002 Carrera Becker cr 220 Type 4362 Y5022215
  5. This is weird code set as it could go in opposite directions, depending upon which DME version is in the car. In your case, it indicates an overly rich condition on both banks that the DME cannot correctly bring back into range. Common faults include incorrect MAF signal, fuel pressure too high, and the EVAP cannister purge valve stuck in the open position.
  6. Oh sorry. 2000 Boxster 2.7 manual. It has about 170k miles.
  7. I know this topic has been covered many times. I keep getting these codes after driving about 20 to 50 miles. I have replaced several parts going to the intake for small leaks after smoke testing numerous times. New MAF sensor and new OEM AOS. What’s left? I have not checked for leaks for the fuel evap portion. And I haven’t looked into the fuel system yet. What’s my best approach from here?

  9. It passes Smog ! All monitors set without a complicated Drive Cycle - just a random 10 mile drive in the country. But why so easy ? Speculating: 1. it is very easy to not notice that triangle shaped gasket has been displaced and obstructs the valve port. See photo above. 2. regular silicone hose may have been collapsing and preventing vacuum reaching the electric changeover valve. Use 3.5/9.5mm, colored hose. Whatever the cause: 1. now it is much easier to verify functionality of S.A.I. components because critical parts of the system are on top of the intake manifold, not inaccessible underneath it.Yes it looks funky but now you can vacuum test it all with the SAI system operating. 2. the Seafoam test was confirmation that at least some secondary air was reaching the exhaust manifolds. How else would you verify that ? btw, suggest you invest in a good 1/4" drive magnetic socket set(or at least a magnetic 10mm socket and a selection of 1/4"drive extensions.Makes r&r of the Intake manifold easier. No dropped bolts ! If you are dexterous you can even use it for the bolt at the end of the manifold, close to the alternator. That means you don't have to r&r the alternator. If you aren't dexterous and patient, just give this job to someone who is ! Next job a Uaos perhaps?
  10. Update: relays changed and one ballast resistor and the fans are now tickety-boo.
  11. Hello! 99 c2cab with CDR220. Hope you can help. Thank you in advance!! 4462 CDP2081 48/98 X5020098
  12. Found the solution, the circuit board inside to control unit was corroded at the power input, cleaned resoldered and now working! That’s saved a fair few pounds, just all the trim to put back
  13. Hi, my parking assist cameras have stopped working, one of the errors I get is C12036 No communication with real top view control unit. Having found the unit, eventually, behind the Bose unit on the right hand side of the rear cargo hold after removing most of the trim in there, and removing the multi plug I found evidence of corrosion. I can see 13 volts in the power supply, by multimeter, and have cleaned and reconnected but still won’t communicate. How can I tell if the unit is OK? Do I need a Porsche dealer to reprogramme in order to get the Gateway unit see they real top view control unit? Thanks Barry
  14. It does not look like Porsche sells this as a separate part so your best bet would be a auto salvage yard.
  15. Have a 2000 boxer y5043589 is the serial number and 4462. Cdr 220 any help be appreciated
  16. My headlight is like this one: i need the part number for headlight rubber sealing Cayenne / 957 / 9PA1 / 2008 - headlight rubber sealing Thank you in advance!
  17. Overly lean conditions come from a couple of issues: insufficient fuel (low pressure or volume flow, plugged injectors), or intake vacuum leaks allowing too much air into the combustion process. As it seems to be on both banks, I would be looking at testing the fuel delivery system, or smoke testing the intake system looking for leaks. With the high idle fault, it is most likely a vacuum leak.
