Need help with DME Codes
Posted by Cattman - Feb 8, 2010 - 10:20 AM - 0 comments
Loren, or anyone else, how do you interpret these Durametric fault codes:

P2187
Oxy. sensor control adapt. RKAT
bank 1 range near idle speed

P2177
Mixture adaptation checksum
error bank 1

P2189
Oxy. sensor control adapt. RKAT
bank 2 range near idle speed

P2179
Mixture adaptation checksum
error bank 2

I am running a Supercharger with AWE cats and the IPD Plenum.

05 Boxster S 987 second gear problem
Posted by andrew_box - Feb 8, 2010 - 09:54 AM - 0 comments
Hello All,

I have an '05 Boxster S with about 46K miles on it. The car was built at the Stuttgart plant. I had the AOS and water pump replaced last week and a day after getting it back the car began to pop out of second gear on deceleration under load like before taking a corner at speed. It seems to only happen on deceleration and occasionally when I lift after acceleration. No grinding when I shift up or down just the pop. It did progressively get worse over the last week. I have began just skipping second when I downshift. It still shifts up though all the gears fine no grinding and no pop even under hard acceleration. I saw many posting about this subject but not one that fit so before I go spend $3k I thought I would post. Any advice would be much appreciated...

Thanks,
Andrew

This question is for Loren.......
Posted by etwd - Feb 8, 2010 - 08:01 AM - 4 comments
Hello Loren,
I recently went through the effort of changing the spark plugs, oil tubes, and o-rings. Thanks to your DIY, it was a breeze (I did remove the mufflers).

While removing the mufflers, I noticed that the muffler tube that extends into the cat was oblong and decided to have a muffler shop round-out the tube.

I removed both cats. I thought I labeled the 02 sensors properly, but regret that i didn't. Can you tell me which 02 sensor goes to the pre-cat and which goes after the cat. They are, as you know, color-coded. One connection is Black and the other is gray.
I believe the BLACK connector goes to the pre-cat...........

Thank You,

Whirring Noise
Posted by jthailer - Feb 8, 2010 - 05:43 AM - 3 comments
2003 Boxster S 30k miles.

Recently started having a whirring noise coming from engine compartment. When started cold there is no noise, but once the car warms up the whirring starts. The noise seems to be tied to RPMs, but it seems to lag the change in RPMs a little, if that makes sense.

The noise started shortly after I changed the poly rib belt. I have not opened up the engine access yet to see if I can tell where the noise is coming from. I will open it up once I get some feedback here.

Thanks,

Cayenne Rear Cup Holder Beverage Support Problem
Posted by igotaction - Feb 7, 2010 - 09:19 PM - 1 comments
My rear cup holder won't stay closed. I am guessing it's broken and can't be fixed. Does anyone know how to remove and replace it? Just want to make sure I don't break anything else.

Thanks
