Hi all, need some advice...

Just bought a MY05 Cayenne Turbo and while crusing on the Motorway at 70 mph, if I put my foot down on the gas pedal it shifts down to 5th / 4th to accelerate - all good except that the downshift to 4th shudders the whole car and sounds horrendous. Is this just the car not being use to my driving style or is it something more serious...?

Also while going around town at 30mph, the down shift from 5th to 4th can be a little notchy as well, not sure if this is related or not.

Any advice greatfully received!

How many miles on it...could be a bad front motor mount. I understand they go bad around 40000 miles.

Could also be the drive shaft also known as the carden shaft.

This sounds like a bad valve body in the tranny. Do a search, you will see the same symtoms.

Regards,
Scott

Yep, had the exact same symptom on my 2004 CTT.... was a bad transmission valve body. The dealer also replaced the control unit for the transmission since there was an updated version. Runs about $2000 installed.

Thanks all, it's back with the dealer now for repair. Will be interesting to see what they say is wrong! I'll mention the valve body when I call them on Tuesday.
