I am hoping that you guys can help me out here. Just had the pepper in for a few issues that were covered under extended warranty. One of the issues that I asked them to fix was the "footwell" lights not staying on. I believe these are called "comfort lights" but I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong.
Anyway, when I press the button (that is all the way towards the right/passenger side) up near the map light selector the footwell lights flicker on them instantly go off. It is kind of random as to how many pushes of the button gets them to function, but I have noticed that there are three levels of intensity. The problem is that the lights won't stay on... seriously is a flicker. As first I thought there was a short under the dash and it was a spark, but now I think that the light just goes on and off immediately.
Dealer told me that a bad main battery would cause this and they need $900 to replace it. So, I changed the main battery (and the aux battery) myself and still have the same problem. Dealer also replaced all eight pencil coils and the instrument cluster...
You guys have any other ideas or experience correcting this?
Thanks in advance...

The Cayenne interior light unit and buttons are a well known issue, there is a repair set available to solve the problem.

Also from memory, my comfort lights operated differently .. I held in the button and the comfort lights slowly cycled intensity.. when the switc was released that wa sthe intensity they stayed at.. So it was more analog that the "three levels of intensity" you mention
