I'm halfway through replacing out my center console with a new leather covered one which is a very nice upgrade I wished I had though of when I ordered the car.

Found some great instructions on the MaCarbon site that detail the job with pictures all the way through. Only glitch that now has me DIW is that the new console does not already have the power outlet that resides in the rear console storage bin.

I am having a tough time figuring out how to remove the old outlet assembly from the old console. It should be simple, but it is getting past me somehow.

I know this is not an ordinary type of DIY project, but short of calling Stuttgart, where might I find the answer on how to remove and replace this part?

Any suggestions would be appreciated as I'm halfway through the job and would sure like to get the car put back together.

Thanks guys.

Kevin

I thought the center console is all the same for all 997-1 vehicles?

Attached File  socket.png (79.01K)
Number of downloads: 19

1. Turn center console, unlock electrical plug A and pull from the socket.
2. Unlock socket and pull out of the center console.

Install is the reverse.
