  1. Hi buddy, if its got bose it will have a subwoofer behind rear seats which you cant miss, under the front hood it will have 2 bose amps, if still unsure take door panel off and remove speaker, also dealer will be able to tell you if it was fitted new, option code for bose was 680, check in your service book to see if it is stamped with the code 680, also follow this link for all option codes http://www.964uk.com...ion%20Codes.pdf hope this helps regards Tim
  2. Hi guys, just an update on the gearbox / clutch problem. Well as car would not go in to gear i decided to leave car at my friends overnite until another friend who is a porsche tech could look at it for me the next morning. As if you couldnt guess, when i returned in the morning gearbox / clutch worked fine no problems whatsoever, so to be on the safe side we bled the clutch and flushed thru with new fluid and it has been fine since (9 days now), however to be on the safe side i have ordered the revised slave cylinder just in case, seems the gremlins were at work. Many thanks for all your replys, thats what makes this forum the number one porsche diagnostics centre bar none:renntech: :thankyou: :clapping:
  3. Hi , DOHHH! ,in england tsb stands for trustees savings bank (lol) , so are we assuming its the clutch master cylinder and is this a common fault taking in to account the symptoms, have you heard of this before ?, i do know a tech who works at a porsche main dealer so would be no problem for him to change the master cylinder, cant get hold of him at the moment, i was thinking Gearbox, Gearbox = $$$$$$, Regards and many thanks Tim :thankyou:

  6. :help: Hi guys, NEED HELP. Just stopped off at a friends house and returned to car after 20 minutes or so. Car is a 2006 Porsche 997 carrera 4 cab. When i got back in the car it was already in gear so i put my foot on the clutch started up and pulled off. Tried to change gear and it would not change up or down. So i turned off the ignition and the gear leaver engages all gears fine with the exception of 1st which is a little notchy ( thats how its always been) I am able to engage any gear without the engine running then start the car and it will move when i let the clutch out but you cannot change gear while engine is running only when its turned off. Clutch was replaced about 8000 miles ago with no problems, fluid is all fine with no loss or leaks visable. Car does seem to move very slightly with clutch pressed right down and in gear, bitting point is a little lower aswell i think. Had no previous issues in the run up to this problem only that sometimes when engine is hot its occasionly knotchy when putting in to first from standstill but have read`this is a commom problem. Have searched various forums but cannot find anybody whos had a similar problem. Its saturday afternoon and im stranded, depending on peoples knowledge of the problem dictates where i take the car for repair, please please help as im blocking my friends driveway. Regards Tim :cursing:
  7. Good find ralph, wish that had of been around when i was doing mine, regards Tim
  8. Hi rich, totally agree, saw these before i did my conversion and managed to achieve gen2 front end for same price as just the lights, the gen2 porsche lights were only £130ish each, speak soon Tim
  9. Hi there, Front bumper from ebay £80, plus £150 to paint, led drl £140 per side new, gen2 mini loom £25 per side new, grilles £25 per side new, headlight washers, £50 per side new, center duct £35 new, rad ducts £60 per side new, plus £200 to programme control unit and have it hacked, reprogramme and hack done by an official porsche centre mechanic, just under £1100 in total, Rear was £350 per light, turbo bumper modded with top half of a damaged gen2 bumper, bumper £40 ebay, paint & plastic weld £400, reprogramme was in with front lights, didnt need to change rear control unit as my car is a 2007 my so £1140 all in, total cost was £2250 but was well worth it as car looks new, if you go down the route of new bumpers your looking £500 per bumper new, available from porscheshop.com, at the time i did mine the turbo facelift hadnt been released so as i had a turbo bumper already fitted it was cheaper to mod, the guy who did the lights is the only guy in the uk who can do the hack, ive just sold 2 front drls on ebay 2day for £250, there is currently an led rear light listed, as i said well worth it regards Tim Hi Tim - congrats! I'm getting ready for the rear and front conversion of my '06 C2, couple of questions in regards to the front: was going to order the factory Gen-2 bumper cover, center duct, R+L grilles, rad. ducts, washers, - does the new bumper cover just bolt on like the Gen-1, or are modifications necessary? To wire the new LED combo-lights: - do I need a control modul to power the lights? - If yes, do you have the parts-# ? is it 997 618 511 01 ??? - where in the front trunk do I have to look ? - you mention R+L mini loom - can you explain some more how you did it and do you have the parts-# ? THANKS for your help! ralf Hi ralf, you do need a new front control unit which needs some pins removing but i do not know how to do this as the guy who did mine for me kept it a secret as he is the only guy in the uk who can do it properly , and i guess knowledge is money, the module is on the drivers side front on a rhd car, the mini loom is the gen2 loom that connects to the gen2 lights, about 12 inches long, this needs to be spliced in to your existing loom, again i do not know the proceedure, will try and locate part numbers for you , if you were in the uk i could have got work done for you, regards Tim
  10. Thank you, Ralf! Oh, they came with the lights and light control module that I got from here: http://www.suncoastp...ode=997S_Lights The harness adapters are just small plastic plugs...hopefully they'll sell them to you for really cheap. Take care, Cliff Hi, i didnt use the harness on my conversion, the plugs on the lights do plug in to the original plugs, didnt want to splice original loom, trust me they fit just push hard. regards Tim
  11. 12. Hi, no need for concern, as other members have pointed out this is common, i have a 2006.5 c4 cab and it does it very occasionaly, regards Tim
  13. Hi paul, thanks for diagram but need diagram from 997-1 and 997-2 and hopefully some instructions on what to cut and what to join, surely somebody else must have done this conversion, i hope so regards Tim Hi guys just a quick note to say i have finished my front end conversion to gen2 and it looks awsome. as my car is a 4s the front grilles(997 505 563/4 05 9b1) are titanium and this looks really good against basalt black. A mechanic from an OPC converted my loom for me and charged £250 ($410), it took him about 20 minutes to do, when you turn ignition on the front leds come on, then when you turn lights on they dim , however if you want them really bright again just put on the foglight switch. only problems i had were the headlight washer units (997 628 163 01)are different on a gen2 and the mk1's cant be retro fitted, and also the centre duct surround (997 505 541 03 01c) also needs an additional air deflector to deflect the air to your rads, porsche part is called air routing (997 575 141 04 1c), even the dealer didnt know i had to have this, all in all well worth the hassle, car is going in next week for the rears to be done which as you guys know is really straightforward, well at long last its done , see attatched foto. Regards 997t Just a quick update to the post, new led rears now fitted. i also have a turbo bootlid fitted and a turbo bumper, car looks dope (awsome) looks £85000 worth with mods and £100 996 hardtop from ebay.
