    pressure plate teeths are uneven and clutch is worn out. Lucky it did not mess up my flywheel. I ordered OEM it's a daily driver. Almost bought a lightened flywheel but read some issues that it's not recommended for daily driving. It's my first time doing a clutch on Porsche and it's not easy the first time but next time will be a piece of cake. I still have to put it back on. Thanks for the individuals who posted instruction and pictures it would be a lot harder if I did not searched.

    Wouldn't the clutch would go bad slowly like it would get worst and worst slowly, not like from running really solid to bad on one shift? Clutch pedal did not feel the same after it sliding. Could it be something else? Someone told me it could be the pressure plate since I went wider wheels and better tires from 8" to 11.5" on the rears 285 tires to 305 and have high mileage. Just want to make sure before I drop the tranny this Sunday. Thanks!

    it's a 2003 996 carrera 2 by the way and it has 105k miles on it. It was running and pulling hard before i floored it.

    I tried to search but could not find it. I need help on my clutch it's sliding! I started flooring the gas on fist gear up to 7k RPM and shifted fast to 2nd gear after it the clutch just slide and the car started running funny. It keeps sliding when I step on the gas. It feels like the clutch s still on. I could drive the car it shifts but sliding when i step on the gas. it seems like the clutch won't go back up like someone is still stepping on it half way. I could drive it very slowly without putting too much gas and it shifts on higher gears without stepping on the clutch pedal. something got loose or a cable might have come lose. I went underneat and could not find a slave cylinder. I'm trying to do a cheap fix first. has anyone had this problem. Thnks Charles

    I had a coolant leak on the reservior, check for cracks on the reservior that normally cracks and leaks. easy to replace if it's the problem and doesnt cost much.

    I had that problem, I thought it would never come off. I took out the whole shifter, step on the shifter while pulling it off, it came off easy. Just put force it should pull off easily. Good Luck!

    I had the wheels balanced is it possible that they could have pinched the lines while jacking it up?

    I started my car after i just went to get coffee, it started fine and when I shifted it on reverse it started acting up and the car died it won't start again. I checked the gas and it still has 59miles to go. I thought it was the gas so i put 2 gallons and it still won't start. I put gas on the trottle and it started. Would this be the fuel pump. How could I test if the fuel pump is working and I did checked the fuse and it's okey. Don't know where the relay is located and the manual says relays should be replaced by authorized technicians only. The price of the Fuel Pump from the dealer is $490 and I would like to make sure that would be the problem if I replace it. Charles 2003 Carrera C2 104k miles

    I lost my copy of the fuses location in the fuse box, I tried to search but could not find one could anyone please post a copy of it. Thanks, Charles

    nope it's lowered with H&R springs 1.2inch i believe makes a diff from stock Did you replace the shocks? If not, do you have any handling issues pairing stock shocks with only springs? Shocks are still stock/original it corners and handles really well like a go cart. Love em!

    19" 997 oem wheels with 8.5" Fronts & 11.5" Rears 55mm Fronts & 67mm Rears fits mine just to give you an idea. But mine is only a 2 wheel drive, I think we have same offsets. Turbos and c4s are diff. 19's will look better but it wont handle as good as 18's. 18's is whats design for our car. If you don't race them you should be ok. I have 19's now I feel the road more. I'll get another set of 18's oem 5 spokes for the track later. Post pictures if you get em. Have a good day!

    what size 18s are you planning to put on. The lower the offset the more it will stick out so you wont need spacers the question is would they rub against your fenders. Specially the fronts when you turn. It's .6693 inches difference on the rears and .1575 in the fronts. If the wheels are the same size with oem(original equipment manufacturer). looks like youll be ok with those offset. But don't take my word make sure, Measure how much room you have. I can't measure mine anymore I just remember theres little room for spacers when i had my originals http://www.wheelsmaster.com/rt_specs.jsp
