  1. My driver door just started it this morning. It will not lower prior to opening and hence when you shut the door, it makes a horrible sound that you know is not right. Upon completing the closing of the door, it will lower itself half way down. I can raise it with the key but it is a pain.
  2. That is exactly what I did. It was very tight but it worked. BTW, what fluid are you using? I went and bought the MB bottle for about half of the Pcar price.
  3. Just went thru both procedures again and all appears tight and secure. The engine light now is solid as opposed to flashing. What does this indicate? The time bomb is getting closer?! :o
  4. I just changed the oil filter and swapped out my coolant tank at the same time. Upon start up, oil level read full on the gauge but pressure went almost to the 5. I turned it off and returned about 10 minutes later to repeat the process. At that point after about 2 seconds of running, the check engine light came on flashing. Any ideas? There were no leaks and everything appears to be tight.
  5. Thanks Stefan for your help but that didnt help either. Any other ideas?
  6. I have not been able to get the memory to work on my seats. (99 996) The power seats work fine, but I can not get the memory to hold. The fuse is good. Any ideas?
  7. I just purchased a set of nobs from Becker and they are only $.20 each with a minimum purchase of $5, plus s+h. I bought 4 for $5.80. Pretty good buy and well worth it. I hated those nobs on humid days.
  8. I'm a new '99 996 owner and am a little baffled currently with the coolant level. I drove the car home after purchase nearly 1100 miles from Miami. No coolant issues. Then after typical around town trips I noticed the instrument light flashing indicating lower levels of coolant. Top it off and drive on. Two weeks later the same thing but this time, I needed to add almost a full liter! The entire time the temp stays within acceptable range and no stains or pools of fluids anywhere to be seen. I have looked under the car on a limited basis but it all looks very dry. Any known coolant drinking TSBs out there?
  9. yea, that is pretty much the same requirement as mentioned by hspiva. The grip is tired and the button is a little worn so I was orginally told that the leather is simply wrapped around the grip and would slide off. But if I need to replace the whole assembly, I guess I better.
  10. Loren, Do you know of a why to simply remove the handle grip and not the entire assembly? :help:
