  1. Thanks Randy. I had to call it a day today. I got some leads over on rennlist as to where the hose goes to. I will let you know if I need to look at yours.
  2. 3. When I applied 20 psi to the system, air was being sucked in at where I have indicated "1" and "2" in the picture. I was not sure what to do so I covered both openings. With the help of a friend, we found what could be a loose vacuum hose (indicated in the picture). Could not figure out where it goes. Am I doing this test wrong? Can someone tell me where the loose hose goes? If you could give me step by step directions on how to do this test, I would really appreciate it. Thanks
  3. 2. I removed the tubes indicated in the picture on both sides. Inserted the plug on the passenger side and the plug with the air connector on the driver side.
  4. My check engine light came on. When I read the code and searched it looked like I had a vacuum leak. One of the boost hoses had come loose-driver side top on intercooler. I decided it was time to replace the hoses with Forge Boost Hoses and new clips. Got the Forge hoses installed and did the boost leak test as follows: 1. Made one of these setups:
  5. I think you will also find yourself in the market for larger intercoolers and injectors as well to get the most out of the K24's. You are at the top of a very slippery slope with this upgrade. Did not think about the injectors. I am okay with bigger intercoolers. Correct me if I am wrong but does the x50 option have k24's? If so, I am assuming they have intercooler that match that would accommodate my changes. Any recommend vendors for bigger injectors? (if not allowed by forum rules, sorry-please ignore)
  6. I am sure this topic has been discussed to death but I imagine that different situations warrant different approaches. I need advice on the best company to go with having the following: (Currently, the k16 are still in the car and I just removed the OEM exhaust) 1. K24 turbochargers. 2. FVD exhaust. Was the 100 cell version but the cats have been hollowed. I am probably going to have to run o2 spacers to avoid a CEL. I have a 5 bar fpr to install as well. Also, does anything else have to be installed to accommodate the k24's? Thanks
  7. Hi Everyone, From what I see many 996TT owners have had issues with their rear spoiler. I am hoping to get some help in fixing mine. I have read several threads so if I am wrong in what I am writing, please let me know. First, the current situation. My car is a 2001 996TT: The switch for the rear spoiler is not lit up. The wing is in the down position. When I press the switch, I hear a click noise but nothing happens. There are no apparent leaks. The pentosin fluid in the rear is approximately half way in the rough portion of the "cold" part of the dip stick. I am not sure if it matters but the pentosin fluid in the reservoir in the front is close to max. I have checked the fuse and it is fine. My understanding is that the next things to check would be the micro-switches, the electric motor, and the hydraulic portion....not really sure about this. Since the light is not on, could it be a problem with the microswitches? Is there a way to test the microswitches with a multimeter? If not, to test the electric motor, how exactly do I do this? I see a harness I can unplug but if someone can give me instructions on how to do this, I would appreciate it. I am hoping that since there is no apparent leak of hydraulic fluid that the issue is with the motor or microswitches. I know many of you feel that it is better to replace the spoiler with an aftermarket unit or place the wing in a fixed position. Before it comes to that, I want to at least give fixing this a try. Thanks in Advance!
