    Assuming your 2004 S is a LHD car the order code is 986320 if however it is a RHD car the correct order code would be 986321

    I caught a branch down a country lane and cracked the lower mirror housing. I have the work proceedure for the removal and refitting but has anyone else attempted this? I have a new one on order and it is being painted as we speak.

    If you are refering to a 'welcome home' type of light (removing the key or unlocking the car) these can only be changed by a dealer using PIWIS

    A long shot but once the headlight is removed you can access the fog/drving lamp. If you can remove this perhaps you can get access the screw from the opening with a long extension.

    The OP has done this, ie disconnect the battery, reconnect, ignition on but don't start for 30 seconds then start, but it wasn't successful.

    Codes values do indicate lean at idle.

    Just revisited the workshop manual says 3.8 for both static and idle.

    The test of fuel pressure is done either static ie engine not running with the fuel pump activated using the PIWIS or at idle (no need for PIWIS) either way for an 2005 Boxster S you should get 3.8 bar +/- 0.2 bar.

    Not the best diagram but here goes: Assuming your car is LHD: It is under the plastic cowl above the pollen filter, there is a foam flap over the pollen filter, it is above that, slightly towards the centre of the car.

    Under the plastic trim in front of the windscreen ie the one the wiper arms go through. The GPS aerial is just above the pollen filter (right hand side of car looking forward), you will have to remove the battery cover and plastic trim next to it to gain access.

    If memory serves me correctly, on a 987 it is centrally mounted below the plastic cowl in front of the windscreen.

    The failure of the 'Clutch Interlock Switch' is becoming a more common fault. I also had this fail on my 2008 Boxster S. The good news it is a simple switch replacement and the switch went intermittent rather than totally failing so I was able to get to a dealer.
