  1. When I was working on transmission oil/filter change, I noticed exhaust leaks at various joints on both exhausts. Is there a recommended way to fix them? Should I replace the clamps and seals (any particular sealing I should get) at each joint, or should I go with something like muffler weld and or tiger patch? Thanks Danish
  2. 2010 C2S 108K miles I was planning to replace the plugs. I went to remove the mufflers. They were very corroded - especially the two I do not have to remove. I used penetrating oil (acetone + AFT). They are much prettier, but they are still corroded. Here is a 1 min video of the bolts so you can see what I am facing: Questions: If I get started on removing them and it does not go well, what next? Surely I don't have to replace the catalytic converters? Are the bolts somehow replaceable? Do they look too far gone?

  4. I would like to replace my spark plugs and water pump because it costs so much for a shop to do it. With that out of the way, is it easy to remove the muffler and rear bumber so that I can get an easier access to the plugs and water pump?
  5. Hello, 2007 C4S Coupe with Tip here. Bought in 2013 with 26,000 miles, bone stock except the previous owner had replaced the headers and put in Tubi Style exhausts. Well, 2 years and 25,000 miles later, I've had enough of these exhausts: way too noisy for my taste, and attract too much attention (I prefer understated). Would like to put back the stock 997.1 C4S exhaust (as for the headers, don't care one way or another, though suspect I might need the stock headers to fit the rest, but would be happy to let sleeping dogs lie). Will then sell the Tubis. Where can I get used stock exhaust --- reputable second hand source or dismantler? Preferably with some warranty. Of course I can always go to the dealer and drop a new one, but would like to explore the options. The only alternative to stock that I am considering would be some setup that is quieter than stock, but as of now I prefer stock. Thank you for any suggestion.
  6. Have a chance to pick-up a set of OEM 997 mufflers for a good price, but just want to make sure they'll just be a "drop-in" for my 996. Any reason to believe this would not work? Thx!
  7. Just got PSE installed on my 2006 997S and they are great. Any opinions on how much I should ask for my stock mufflers and tips. Car has 33K. Porsche of Fremont did the work and did a great job.
