Rear Jack Point

Dr. T

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I have a 2003 996TT and was wondering if it's ok to jack up the rear using the cross member just forward of the rear sway bar? I've heard you can place the jack on the bottom of the engine but I have a jack that will reach the cross member and would rather use that if it's ok.

Thanks,

-Glen

Does anyone have a pic for the rear jack placement? I have a 997.1 and was helping a mate with his 996TT and hit a road block on the rear placement. We managed the oil change using ramps on an incline, but now want to know where the best jack stand placement is on a 996TT given the differences of the underbody.

I also notices a clamp type assembly just rear of the sway bar and almost put the jack on it - but thought better of it til I see pic from someone.

Thanks Loren
