Self leveling headlights

Recommended Posts

Hi Loren. I have an 01 turbo and my self leveling headlights do not work anymore. Is there a Porsche trouble shooting guide that can lead me to the problem. I did replace suspension and removed the leveling sensor but I was extremely careful so I don`t think it is that. The dealer also replaced the headlight bracket once as my light was stuck and could nor be removed. They basically broke the plastic base to get the headlight out then replaced the bracket. This may be the prob but I need to troubleshoot in a logical sequence. Thanks guys

I would say the first step is hook the car up to a PST2 and see what the faults are? Since parts have been removed and either replaced or re-installed then a calibration would be in order also (PST2 again).

Where are you located?

Loren I do not have any fault codes that show up on the dash. I live in north california, mike

Headlight fault codes do not show up in any dash lights - only DME faults (and not all of them produce a CEL).

I live in Morgan Hill (just South of San Jose) so if you are close I can look up my PST2 and check it out for you. Drop me a PM if you want to do this.

Thanks Loren, that`s very nice of you. I am a little north of SF. I will PM you when I know when I`ll be in your area. Mike
