Minimum CPU requirements for Durametric software?

Hello,

I have a durametric cable coming in the mail for this weekend and do not have a laptop at the moment. I am looking at getting something that will basically only run this program. Any idea what I will really need for this? The durametric site doesn't state minimum requirements...I am assuming because if you are using a lot of modules for actual values, it can really slow down or need a very fast computer. I'll be using it for general trouble shooting and diagnostics. A friend has a Pentuim 1.8 Ghz with 1 GB or ram and XP pro on it which he used to hook into his Grand National and it was more than enough. I was thinking of taking that off his hands since he no longer has that car, would that be sufficient?

Thanks in advance,

Dennis

I searched for +minimum +CPU and found nothing here. :(

Give Duram a call at Durametric at 888-854-5523. You will be pleasantly surprised at how helpful he is. He is genuinely interested in making sure that his customers get the most out of their Durametric units.

If you prefer to e-mail, send one to "support@durametric.com"

Nothing like getting the information from the horse's mouth.

Regards, Maurice.

I recieved this reply from Owen Sutton:

Hello Dennis,

Thank you for your interest in Durametric. Here are the minimum system requirements:

Windows operating system version 2000, XP (32- or 64-bit), or Vista (32- or 64-bit)

1.2 GHz Pentium-class processor or faster. (2.0 GHz or faster recommended for late-model cars.)

512 MB RAM

Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher

Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 (free download from Microsoft)

Available USB port

A computer with these parameters will get you through the use of the software without difficulty. As the list mentions however, if you are using the tool on a late-model car, 2005 or newer, you’ll want to have a faster machine.

If you have any other questions, please let us know.

Best Regards,

Owen Sutton
