Do 997 wheels fit on a 996?

Recommended Posts

Yes 997 WB wheels fit NB 996's. I have 19" design sports on my NB C2 Cab and they fit perfectly. In fact I'm running 4mm spacers in the rear and 5mm up front just to get them that much more flush. For the fronts you can run up to 15mm spacers but I chose not to.

If someone wanted to use these wheels on a WB 996 (C4S) they would need spacers in the rear.

What model wheels are you selling?

Cheers,

Stan

Guys, thanks for the feedback. The ones i am selling are the lobster claws of a 1 month old 997 C4S (2008 model). Most inquiries are from 996 C2(s) and C4S owners. Do any of you have pix of these wheels on a 996?

I have lobster claws from a 997 S and they fit fine. No spacers needed. Even that I'm running 235's in the front and 305's in the back. No rubbing.

These are the lightest wheels Porsche is making at this moment.

See pics.

I am trying to sell my 1 month old 997 C4S wheels (8" width front and 11" width rear). Am getting a few reactions from 996 C2S and C4S owners. Does anyone have experience with the fit?

I have the 997 19" turbo wheels on my 996 C4S, and they fit perfectly. The rears were supposed to use 5mm spacers, but after trying them, I decided not to use them.

They look great.

For what it's worth...I bought my 02 C2 Targa that is currently running on 19" Antera wheels. The previous owner installed them and they run reasonably well. The fronts will rub slightly at full lock but I don't consider it an issue. However I think I'd prefer sticking with 18" since the 19"s with the matching low profile tires gives a pretty harsh ride. Also I have a feeling that the handling is slightly worse (more understeer) although I haven't driven the car on 18" wheels for a true comparison.

The 19" wheels do look great though.
