How to remove exhaust ? Any got a PDF/URL ?

hi Folks.

I'm planning on changing my exhaust at the weekend, and I'm just looking for a guide on how to do it. I have a rough idea, but its always handy to have a few photos to guide you.

I would purchase the Bentley Manual. It sells for under $80 US. You can possibly get a used one in good condition for less. I replaced my RMS and clutch last winter and had to drop the exhaust and tranny to get to them. The Bentley manual was a must. Might try searching this web site.

Just get under there and start taking bolts out . . . . it's fairly simple on paper but, very akward to do . . . I found that supporting it with a floor jack helped a lot especially when you slide it towards the rear as this is how the exhaust hanger's bolts are freed. do a search and chek out the clutch replacement article on here it might be helpful

Kinda bumping my own post :) but with new knowledge.

We put the boxster up on axle stands, and had no issue removing the exhaust backbox. We didn't need to remove the rear bumper, as we managed with the space available. Complete downside to all this, was the new replacement exhaust (hand made!) didn't line up with the brackets, was out by a couple of MM either side which made it impossible to put on.

Lesson learned :)
