Cayenne Panoramic Roof Sqeaks and Creaks

Recommended Posts

I have a 2008 Cayenne turbo with the very common, but expensive panoramic roof. It will not stop squaking and I wondered whether it has any lubrication points or does it need greasing. It works perfectly, but once closed the noise is doing my head in.

Any advice/help appreciated

This is one of the known problems with panoramic roof, first you have to find out if the squeaking comes from the unit (roof frame) itself or the glass plates.

I lubricated all of the rubber seals on mine with Dow Corning Silicone grease and get no squeaks from the roof itself but seem to get one in the header panel just in front of the roof, overhead of the sunroof control panel. I've pulled the sunroof control panel but can't seem to find it. The 100% silicone Down Corning grease, which is clear/white in color actually protects and lubricates the seals.

I also experienced the squeaking noises in the front panel section. It was worse when driving over bumpy surfaces. My local dealer was able to lubricate the front panel area and the squeaks have disappeared. I suspect that they have seen many of these issues in the dry dusty climate here in Arizona. Good luck!
