Low rolling resistance tires?

My guess, is that Kurtdiver is looking to maximize MPG's. I could be wrong. If so, just make sure your car is properly maintained, use quality 93 octane gas (ethanol free, if you can find it, good luck, maybe 91 but not 93 anymore) and be diligent with your tire pressures. I think this will yeild as good as results.

I am with the "why are you trying to improve MPG on a Porsche?" crowd.

That being said- most tires that fit the stock size wheels will be pretty stiff sidewalls, compared with typical domestic/asian sizes, which roughly translates to better rolling resistance. Although I have not noticed any tires in the 17" OE sizes that are marketed as rolling resistance.

Another thought is that if you want to experiment with lowering your rolling resistance: Just run max tire air pressure and see how you like it. :)

I could be wrong, but the only low rolling resistance/mpg tires are generally very thin/narrow. These are words that don't describe a sport's cars requirement for performance tires.

+1 to poster who said keep on top of your pressures.

I've achieved 30MPG with my 996 and slightly overinflated tires, driving conservatively on the highway.
