Phone only out of one speaker PCM2.1

Recommended Posts

Hi from a complete newbie with a 2005 987 S. It has PCM2.1 Bose with nav and phone. Perhaps unusually, I am using the phone with a second sim card, and just diverting my main phone to the new sim number when I am in the car. Seems to work fine, except that the sound only comes from the passenger side speaker. Is that normal - I cant find any way of adjusting it and the sound is normal from all other sources?

Apart from that Im loving the car except for the 'normal' noisy half second start up from cold every morning... Thanks

The phone sound comes out of the driver's side on mine - I can't say I have noticed if it comes out the passenger side too. Perhaps the coding of the unit is for LHD. I have experienced these units 'losing' their coding randomly. If you are anywhere near me I would be happy to plug in my PIWIS to check it for you.

HI,

in my 2003 996 LHD the sound of phone comes from passenger side(right seat) like you.

I think it's normal because the microphone on the left of cluster is very near to left speaker, so if sound

comes from left side you can have echo or larsen effect.
