Hello,

I have 2008 Cayenne base and it is coming to change engine oil.

Porsche recommends, Mobil 1.

Mobil 1(5W-30)

is this perfect the engine oil for Cayenne? How much is it require? I check that 1 bottle is 0.5 qt.(http://www.walmart.com/ip/Mobil-1-High-Mileage-5W-30-Full-Synthetic-Motor-Oil-5qt/17018131)

Also, anyone, can recommend the oil filter?

I'm a DIY person, but it is first time to change engine oil, so I need the instruction from experts.

Thank you.

Search function is your friend - have you tried?

This by far is the most overused comeback on EVERY forum I frequent.  Have you ever searched and could not find what you were looking for? The fact that people actually take time out of their day to type this is beyond me.  If you don't know then just keep quiet, this is a forum for petes sake.  A place where you ask question, answer questions or simple read.  Being obnoxious and argumentative can be saved for those lefty political blogs.

Just my 2 cents.

I think the 0w-40 is a better choice if you like Mobil 1.  It does have better specifications than the 5w-30.

Most people tell 0W-40 is better, but I found the manual says 5W-30 is for Cayenne base model.

That's why I posted to ask this matter.

The V6 is originally a VAG engine, VAG (Audi- VW) is commercially connected with Castrol and recommends of course Castrol 5W-30 Longlife for his products, Porsche however is connected with Mobil and recommends Mobil1 0W-40, which is conform to the specified service intervals. If you use the recommended Mobil are you, at least according to Porsche, safe.

Gentlemen, gentlemen; let's not get our nickers in twist.  While asking if he has searched may seem over stated, many times the question is completely valid, as you often see the same questions over and over.  In this case, a quick look at the "DIY Tools" tab at the top of the page would have revealed the archive for Porsche TSB's, which includes the following list of all oil recommendations (as of 5/13) for all Porsche Cayenne models:  http://www.renntech.org/forums/files/getdownload/2052-approved-oils-mar-2013-allocationpdf/

So "search" can in fact be your friend................ ;)
