996 Cab hydraulic fluid

Recommended Posts

I would like to know if there is some secret to add the hydraulic fluid to the covertible top pump. I've taken the hex plug out and tried using plastic tubing but for some reason it will not take the oil it keeps driping out.

I've seen the DIY and searched further, looks basic but I'm perplexed.

thanks for your help.

Tried again but no success.  took plug out, used syringe and tool to try to put fluid in but it does not go in.  anyone else ever run into this.  Even tried taking the pump out a bit to get a better angle.

SOLVED

Tried again tonight and found out I was using the wrong plug holes.  In the DIY the fill holes are in the front, side of pump.  On mine it is at the bottom of the transluecent container.  I saw this plug once I remove the pump from the bracket and looked under.  What made me look there was a post on another forum that showed the pump mounted horizontally and they stated the pump did not look like the one in the DIY picture.  I guess my pump is a newer version or something like that so it must have been replaced by previous owner.

top goes up very strong now.

Anyway, hope this helps anyone who has a similar pump to mine.
