I wonder if anyone reads these....  I am hopeful.   :)

I have a 2008 Cayenne GTS with an awesome manual transmission.  I can not find much of anything on when to replace the transmission fluid... nor how to replace the fluid.  I am quite familiar with the automatic transmission fluid change (in my previous CTTS), there is next to no documentation on the manual GTS.

I have searched google and the forums for some answer or clue.... nadda.  So any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi CaptJim...  I have not found an answer to this yet.  My assumption is to replace the fluid, it is the same as other manual transmissions; drain from the bottom and top it off through the fill plug.  I may buy a service manual for this answer (and many others).  If you find anything, please let me know.

And now, for the $1M question.....  What fluid is best for this transmission?

The Reenlist site likes the royal purple synchromax.  I hear good things about the shifting quality.  I am going to try it as I could use some more equality in my shifting.....

I would love to hear the opinion of others on the Transmission fluid to use.  I am partially inclined to keep it OE... but with higher mileage, it may make sense to use a 'pure grade' synthetic rather than Mobil 1 - such as Swepco?  Redline?  Please feel free to add any suggestions.

I use Mobil Delvac 75W-90 in my other cars gearboxes with good results.  I'm considering this route provided all the API grades agree.

I think that is a good choice.

Everyone please be aware this thread is about MANUAL transmission Cayenne GTS. Not many of those in the US/Canada area.
