Troubleshooting a brake booster leak

I pulled the skid plate off my '04 TT to do an oil change and found this very sticky substance that had dripped down the rubber hose. I have had a "Brake booster workshop" light on the dash but my braking wasn't being affected. I think I found my leak.

 

This is driver side front. Do you all think I'm on target?

Agreed.  If that's the driver side, that could be engine oil leaking out of the charge pipe going into the intercooler.  It's a cheap or-ring to fix it.  Most common brake booster issues stem from the hoses up near the washer reservoir.  Could be a cracked hose, or a cracked check valve.

Thank you both very much! You were both right. I pulled the small plastic piece by the wheel well and found that a lot of oil had been leaking somewhere around my driver side intercooler. I'll have to address that later. But sure enough, there was a 2" crack just underneath the check valve(?). Appreciate the input.
