06 Cayenne HVAC Blower replacement tips

Any tips or gotchas on removal and installation of the AC/HVAC blower motor on an 06' Cayenne? Mine is getting "chatty" and although running, sounds like the bearings are headed south.

It takes longer to round up your tools than it does to do the job.  Very easy, except for standing on your head in the footwell.

 

Make sure you line the bolts/screws up when you put them back so they seat flush.  It is easy to get them a little sideways and they'll miss the plastic thread "barrels" ... you'll see what I mean when you remove the cover.

 

I had to puzzle through how to disconnect the wire, but it wasn't terribly difficult. 

 

Make sure the splines on the cover actually engage the slots.  If you look at your replacement motor/cover, you'll see the splines.

 

I bought my replacement on Amazon (Evan-Fisher at Auto Parts Giant) for $89......works perfectly and I was amazed at how well it was packed for shipment; completely form-fitting foam.

It seems I have the same problem in my Cayenne 04. Are there guidelines where to start? What needs to to disconnected? How to reach the blower?
