Looking for some guidance with an unknown noise. When driving at low speed and coming off the throttle, I can hear a knocking noise coming from the front of CTT. I'm going under to re-check the Cardan as the bushing did look suspect when I saw it on the mechs lift. I don't believe it's the Cardan at this time as the noise diminishes upon acceleration. Does this sound more like the CV axle half shaft? Some feedback would be appreciated. Thanks all

All the bushings look healthy, a bit dusty but intact. I would suspect if it was control arm related the knocking would be more random and dependent on directional force applied. My noise is rhythmic which casts my suspicions to rotating equipment. I'm hoping it's the inboard end of the axle half shaft. But as I stated earlier the noise is more prominent at low speed deceleration but seems to diminish when brakes applied. I will try to take it on the road again and have a friend walk beside each side to try to pinpoint

Appreciate your input Loren. I would strongly believe it to be related to the axle half shaft. I will troubleshoot more when I get home this week. I see in the DIY section that there is no tutorial for the half shafts so if in fact this is my solution I will do my best to create one.

Cheers

I took the CTT for a drive and experimented a bit. The noise seems more prominent when letting of the throttle and diminishes when applying throttle or brake. I've been looking into replacement axle shafts and ask if anyone has had any experience with A1 Cardone shafts? I realize I'm typing this prior to my own search but was just wanting it to be caught in this topic for my quick reference.

Thanks again
