986 Boxster (New to me) Window / Roof/Boot issues

Recommended Posts

HI Guys,

Great forum. Thank you for adding me..

I have just bought my first Porsche, a 1999 986 (I think) Boxster.

It is in immaculate condition but has a few electrical issues....

1. When I operate the roof, the rear boot pops open. Is this normal or an issue ??

2. When I open the driver door (RHD) the window doesn't stay down, so I have to hold the handle up when I close it.

3. (not sure if  this is normal or an issue) 3rd gear seems to have two stages !?.. i.e. revs drop and it feels like its moving up a gear but still shows 3rd !?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Jason

1) Looks as an issue or programming error  2) Issue, probably microswitch in doorlock failure  3) This is a Tiptronic, normal behavior (clutch lock inside torque converter functioning). There is a lot of info on this site about these problems, use the search button on top right of each page.
