Air Compressor Relay Location

I have a 2006 Cayenne S with the air suspension.  I am replacing the compressor with a new Wabco unit from Arnott.  Appears I paid too much, but I got it the next day.

 

With the compressor, they have supplied a replacement relay that they insist must be used to avoid "damage or void warranty".  I have it, so I would like to install it.  However, I have searched the forums and can not find any reference as to the physical location of this relay.  Owners manual only wants a Porsche technician to work with the relays, so it has provided no help.

 

I did find a table that shows the number as L3, but give no hint as to where it is actually located.

 

Can anyone point me to the physical location of this relay?

Wow, have I stumped the forum?

 

I was hoping to install the compressor tonight, looks like I will have to dig for the relay.

 

I do remember hearing the "click" when the compressor started and stopped.  Seemed to be coming from the dash area in front of driver's seat.

 

If I find it I will document it for the next guy.

L3 is the ride height compressor relay.

It is located on relay support 1 panel on the left side of the dash.

Located under the dash on the driver's side (US).  Relays are on the top of the relay support.  Support must be released by depressing a couple of tabs and pulling the support down to get to the relays.

 

Would have taken a picture, but I wanted to get it together so I would not have to drive my wife's car to work again tomorrow.

Hello ,,

i have an issue that the compressor works till one of the lines explodes and its usually the brown line i replaced the compressor and the new one still does it 

Please Little porsche can you tell me which one is the relay under the dash to the right i found three relays but didnt know which one as i pulled them and compressor still works ??!!

Relay is L3  located on the left relay module as per my previous post June 4 2015.

 

Alternatively and easier would be to pull the 40 amp compressor fuse F13 located on the fuse panel, above the main battery, under the left front seat.

I realize this is a very old post, but my compressor just failed on my '08 Cayenne Turbo, and I now need to replace the compressor and the relay. (manufacturer recommends always replacing the relay when replacing the compressor).

 

I am a bit confused by the images above. In order to access the relays, do I need to remove the lower left dash? Or do I just need to remove that plastic cover just above the pedals and work my way up from there?
