AC temperature fixed, cannot adjust

Recommended Posts

The HVAC system on my 2001 996tt RHD STD does not vary the temperature of the air output.Whether I adjust to 30 deg C or to 19 deg C the air output is the same temperature, very low ( I suspect the min temperature available). I have done some routine line checks, checked sensors etc but was unable to find anything to point me in the right direction.

regards,

james

Hmmmm....Do you realize that you can not actually adjust the temperature of the air the AC system output.  The controls simply activate the system or turn it off.  Of course the fans are there to circulate the air and their speed can be adjusted.

Now it is possible the AC unit refrigerant has issues, but this is not something you adjust per se.

Wross996TT,

Not sure that is completely true. The system is equipped with blend doors that will mix warm air with the cold to achieve something close to the set temperature. At least that is the way my 2004TT works. If the foam is off the doors the system will not be able to do this.
