Passenger side mirror problem

Recommended Posts

Hi all

My car is MY08 Carrera 2S (RHD), yesterday I noticed the passenger-side mirror did not drop lower when I put the car into reverse.  It also did not respond to the driver-side's control knob.  Strangely however, when turning the key to on after a shut down, the mirror will move according to the knob for 1-2 seconds before stopping to respond again.

Has anyone encounter this before?  Any help would be appreciated.  I am trying to avoid taking the car to the dealer here, for their service was sub-par and required also a long waiting time :( .

Thanks

Problem solved by simply replacing the mirror adjuster motor.  Weird that the faulty motor will function for 1-2 seconds before failing every time the car was started.  Took it apart with no avail on causes, could be some sensor in the gears assembly that failed.  Anyway, for the record if anyone else is going to run into a similar problem.
