Need member with Durametric to read codes

I suspect coil packs are the problem. Is there a code fault reader other than Durametric that can confirm this? Anyone know if AutoZone or Advance Auto will check fault codes, and will their equipment confirm a cracked coil pack? Again, I thank you for any help.

A generic reader should tell you that you have a misfire on one or more cylinders (fault code 301-302-303-304-305-306 = cylinder 1-2-3-4-5-6). Fault 300 just means multiple cylinders misfiring.

 

You can check each individual coil pack with an ohm meter.

Resistance between terminals 1 and 15 at 20 °C: 0.3 - 0.7 Ω
 
Of course check for a bad or broken spark plug and electrical connector while you are there.

Yes, Autozone and probably every other auto parts chain will read the codes for free. You can buy a code reader pretty cheaply and they do come in handy and will work with all of your cars. You don't need a Durametric for reading and resetting common codes. A typical ODBII reader will do just fine in most cases.
