Porsche Cayenne Turbo P0011 & P0021 ? *help*

Possible cause of fault

- Dirt in oil circuit

- Sealing strips on inlet camshaft adjuster faulty

- Oil pressure too low

- Mechanical fault in inlet camshaft adjuster

- Solenoid hydraulic valve faulty


 


P0421 Catalytic conversion, bank 1 – above limit value

 


Possible cause of fault

- Oxygen sensors in front of and behind catalytic converter are interchanged

- Catalytic converter faulty

 

I would fix the camshaft error first - then re-test.

Specify what?  Loren has given you the probable fault causes for each code, now you need to check each the probable faults to see which one it is.

How do I find ?

 

You need to find a shop that has the knowledge and capability to fix your faults.

Most good Porsche repair shops can handle these sorts of issues.

I'm sorry, but along with a lot of specific knowledge about this engine, you are going to need specialized tooling, such as the Cayenne camshaft timing tools to do this type of repair:

And these tools are both quite expensive, and have only one use, for setting valve, cam or VarioCam timing and also requires a regulated air source between 5.0 and 5.5 bar to complete the repairs.  This is well outside what I would suggest is a "do-it-yourself" type repair for someone that has not done it before, or had special training on this engine.

I just changed the actuator that caused p0021 in my engine last week. Not sure where it is in the cayenne, but it as fairly straight forward. Actuator cost $250 from sunset Porsche

Have read of this post as well same fault code, he changes the Cam Sensor not the Actuator Solenoid at the front of valve cover. (Im not advocating throwing parts at it mind).

Also other posts mention having timing chain issues :(

When was you oil changed last? I would do a Mobile 1 Oil flush and new oil and filter, clear codes and run to see what happens. Dirty oil can cause these fault codes and it the easiest thing to do and regular maintenance anyway, double win if it fixes it. Good luck.

What are your running issues if any?

Those are all , I would like to check out. How do they 331kW ?
