  2. I have the same problem on my 98 Boxster and for me it surely is this fan. I took it out cleaned it and the sound coming from it when not clicked into the dash is minimal. When I put it back in the sound returns and it seems like the dashboard is resonating and increasing the noise level. My question is: Would this be fixed by getting a new fan (pn: 996 653 241 00) or is there a way to stop it from resonating? If replacement is the best option, is there a cheap online store where I can find it? Thanks, Peter
