    Another top issue on my 2001 Boxster S: The windows were down and would not go up all summer long and into the winter months. About a month ago, I tried again and the top went up. At the same time, the windows went up as well. Now, the top will not retract, nor will the windows go down! The windows do drop about 1/4" when I open the doors, as they are supposed to do. Of course, the emergency brake is on, as is the emergency brake light. When I press either button to raise or lower the top, I can hear a 'click', so there must be some power going somewhere. The windows, of course, will not go down either. This issue is driving me nuts. please help with any suggestions! Thanks!

    Appreciate all those suggestions but I am getting nowhere fast! The key fob will lock and unlock the doors but, no matter how long I hold the button down, the windows will not roll up. I switched all the 30 amp fuses in the 'D' row and no results. Again, visually, they all look fine. Yesterday, I raised the top, then lowered it back down. Today, I tried to put it back up, but it will not operate at all. I noticed that now the dash indicator light for the top is lit up. It has never been on before. Some more background, the windows haven't worked since last summer when they 'magically' quit functioning. When I started working on the car again yesterday, I removed the driver seat and replaced the 15 amp fuse in the M535 alarm computer. After doing that, the fob started working for the first time! It was completely non-functional before. What it appears I have gained is a key fob that now works, the front and rear trunks now work with both the key fob and also the switches by the side of the driver's seat. The 'lock' button on the dash, the 'top up/down' button on the dash, and the 'defroster' button on the dash do nothing now. I am over 300 miles from a Porsche dealer and don't have any faith in local shops with the car. Hoping I may somehow drive the gremlins out and, with the great knowledge base in Renntech, be able to figure something out! Thanks so much for your suggestions. Any more?

    After a drive in my 2001 Boxster S with the windows down, I discovered they would not go back up. I checked fuse D3, and it is fine. Since I had replaced the battery, I tried holding the window switch down, then pressed down again, then up...still nothing. I am lost and hope someone may have a suggestion.

    Can anyone help me find an electrical wiring diagram for the 986 Boxster trunk actuator switches located in the driver's side door sill? I have tried due diligence in searching but have not been able to find anything. The front trunk actuator works when I connect it directly to the car's battery but, when I try to use the actuator switch in the door sill, nothing happens. I have used a test light on the switch and it appears to be working. I would like to find a wiring diagram to include wires to and from the switch so I might be able to locate a fault along the way. The Porsche is a 2001 Boxster S with manual transmission and the upgraded sound system with factory installed amplifier and trunk mounted cd player. Haven't discovered any other options yet. Thanks!

    And to complicate things, I am totally perplexed! The panel is completely bland and pushing the 'on' or 'tp' buttons have no effect. I can't get any response that the radio is functioning at all. The red flashing security light on my CR220 is operating, so I assume there is power to the radio. I purchased the removal tools and, after removing the radio, posted the model number, serial number, etc., and received a response for the codes. The fuse on the back of the radio looks okay; it is a 15 amp, so must have been replaced at an earlier time. Is there any sort of further 'testing' I can do to determine if the radio is still functioning? I hate to toss it and purchase a new one if it is repairable. Thanks so much for any input you may give.

    Recently purchased a 2001 Boxster S with non-operating radio. Seller had no idea what the code was; I reside over two hours from the nearest Porsche dealer. Any ideas what the code might be? Porsche CR220 Model BE4362 Serial # 15030837 Thank you for any help you might provide me! PCA member; originally joined in March of 1967
