  1. Switch is fine, fuse was replaced and the driver's side works but not the passenger side. I ended up at a dealer - didn't have time to dig into it myself. Next time I will though - ended up as a bad window motor.
  2. No, switch continued to work with I swapped the wiring over from the driver's side window. Neither switch works either since I swapped over the wiring of the passenger side to the driver's side switch and it still wouldn't go down. Starting to sound like something more involved to fix.
  3. Brought my 996 C4S home this weekend and within a day of having it the windows are flaking out on me. First the fuse for the windows blew out, then once it was replaced, I seemed to lose the auto up/down function on both windows. I did the reset I read about and all was good. Then about an hour later, the passenger window just stopped working altogether, while the driver's side is fine for both auto up/down, etc. I just can't get my passenger side window up or down - which sucks given that its down. I had wanted to start driving this but that'll be a bit hard if I can't lock the car without having a window open. Anyone have any suggestions on what might be causing this? The string of events tells me i have an electrical issue, which is really worrisome given how they are often really hard to resolve.
  4. The LN engineering solution that's perm and uses an oil feed is the way I'm likely to go at this point. I'm hard on my cars, and know I'll regret it if I don't go overboard making sure it won't fail on me.
  5. I just recently purchased a 996 4S and have been contemplating replacing the IMS immediately for peace of mind. In searching for replacements, I've seen the LN Engineering ceramic version, but also ran across the IMS Direct Oil feed kits from TuneRS Motorsports. Given the underlying reason they fail (long term lack of lubrication), a direct oil solution seems to be a very logical approach to solving the issue, vs trying to replace the bearing with something that will just last longer without proper lubrication. Has anyone used the direct oiling solution as an alternative to ceramic bearings? I'm completely new to the Porsche - so I have no expertise in this area so similar to the OP, want to know what options exist. Less concerned about cost and more about durability.
