  1. Thanks.... found it... don't know how I missed that one! It looks like a right pain... but hopefully will help to get it sorted... will keep you updated... appreciate the help ta
  2. yes, I saw that... I've read this. It shows how to close but a little unclear on how to release the clamshell when the lid is closed. I figure I'd have to go in through the back... probably from the sides... frustrated indeed
  3. Hi Wizard Many thanks for your answer. That sounds like a good idea... will try tomorrow... and no the windows aren't dropping... wouldn't that support the theory that the computer somehow is confused? Cheers
  4. Re: 2005 Boxster S 987. OK folks... this is a real doozy. A while back the plastic cups on the roof operating rods broke. I ordered new ones and whilst waiting operated the roof manually. To do this I used the switch to operate the clamshell and then moved the roof up or down manually. OK... with me so far? Thanks! So far so good.... however, I raised the hood by hand when the actual car thought it was lowered. In other words, the car thinks the roof is down... but it's actually up. Consequently, the roof clamshell now doesn't move. If I operate the switch and try to put the roof up it shows the convertible top going up on the dash. But nothing happens. If I try to put it down via the switch nothing is indicated. Logic would tell me that I need to somehow reset the computer... Any ideas? Thanks and cheers from Auckland NZ
