  1. Apologies for replying to an old thread, but for anyone else ending up here via google, try this: - twist and hold the clock adjustment counter-clockwise for a few seconds This should switch between imperial and metric units on the DRO.
  2. Meanwhile, a future DIY on servicing the clamshell drive mechanism is in the making here, will update the pdf after recalibrating the control module... Porsche 911 convertible, clam shell tranmission drive maintenance.pdf
  3. Anyone local (Montreal west island) have a durametric that I can use to quickly check my convertible top calibration please? All was fine until I had to do some maintenance related to drains, and had the roof in service mode for an extended duration. Ever since then, it won't function properly. Hydraulic fluid is full, and everything looks good mechanically. Sadly, my Autel Pro MP series scanner does not support convertible top calibration on 911/996 (it does so on 997 and later models)... I can read live data and the potentiometers and the microswitch all appear to be within spec and functional. The hydraulic motor is not activating. The motor is fine, as I can actuate it manually and it does function.
  4. Hi, hope you already found the replacement part; however, if you kept the gear, please take some measurements, inner and outer diameters, bearing size, number of teeth on gear etc. These are--more often than not--standard parts that OEM manufactures source out of a catalogue. I'd be happy tp do a bit of research, and report back; might be helpful for the next person that runs into this.
  5. I'm aware this is an old thread and the OP has long resolved the issue... For reference, the reason the horn hums is that the system is continuously applying a small amount of current and monitoring to see that it is present. If you arm your car, and then unplug the horn, you will see that the flashers will immediately come on. The normal current draw, when all interior, exterior lights, as well as odometer illumination is off, and doors are closed, is ~50 mA (i.e., 0.05 A).
