Boxster top stuck in up position

Thank you. I figured it out. The top control relay was not securely plugged in. I pushed it in and felt slight movement which made it secure. Top started working.

Apologize. The thread was derailed a bit, just trying to get back to the question.

No need to take seat(s) out. Maybe not perfectly accurate, but as I remember it, you just need to take out 2 Torx under center console hinged lid (1 under coin holder). 2 Torx under ash tray. 1 Torx under shift boot. And a couple side panels on the console. 2 towards front, two towards back and one right next to shift lever on driver side.

Philip, From my reading on your problem it is probably the parking brake light switch that is not working. When you lift the parking brake, the switch opens up, and when putting the parking brake down it closes the switch. It seems some people open/close the parking brake a number of times and the switch starts working. But the switch may need swapped out which is $10 on amazon, and about an hour of work to take out the center console and replace the switch.
  5. 1999 Boxster manual transmission - Was working yesterday - Brake light is on - Fuses b6 and d3 are fine - Windows go down 4" when unlatching - Should top light come on when unlatching, because it does not? - 1st microswitch must be working because when unlatching windows go down 4" - 2nd microswitch that I have read about I cannot see. - When pressing top down button or top up, no sound, no lights dimming, nothing. Thanks in advance for any help that you can provide.
