  1. Will do and I'll report back once I have replaced, coils, plugs and oil filter and drop pan to confirm oil feed is clear.
  2. Oil level is spot on, if I rev to 1000rpm oil pressure sits at 1.5bar, but tapping sound is my main concern, could tapping even at revs be failed coils or more sinister?
  3. Hi everyone I have a 1999 996 Carrera cab, which today suddenly developed a tapping sound and engine light came on, idle speed dropped to 500rpm with almost no oil pressure at idle, limped home, help anyone, could a failed coil cause this? Mine look cracked and in pretty poor condition.
