  1. Normally I would also agree with Loren, but in this case, after I disconnected the battery (for about 8 hours) it was still very rough and sounded like it was choking. It died about 6 or 7 times on me while going to the mechanic. The Indie I took the car to said I had "very dirty" fuel lines and injectors. He cleaned the system with injection cleaner, and I also had him clean my K&N air filter and do an oil change since he had the car. He says it's running perfectly now, and I'll pick it up tomorrow.
  2. Well I did not add any fuel additives, but instead disconnected the positive terminal of the battery last night. Reconnected it this morning, and tried to go to work, but the car was idling real rough and died on me a couple of times, before I even reached the end of the cul-de-sac. Made a U-turn and headed back to my garage keeping the RPMs high to prevent the engine from sputtering to death again, then got in my other car and went to work. I started the car again this evening, and after bellowing huge clouds of smoke it was idling very rough again, I stayed in the car keeping the RPM in the 3K range, it did not look like the car was appreciating this. Eventually it got a little bit smoother, but not normal by any means. I am debating wether to do the fuel additive thing or taking the car to an Indie tomorrow.
  3. Sounds good I'll give it a try. So no cleaners huh? Thanks Loren.
  4. I ran out of fuel yesterday just as I was pulling into the gas station LOL. After the fill up, I had to crank the engine for quite a bit to get the car going, I guess I had nothing but air in the fuel lines, but now the car is hesitating quite a bit and idling rough too, I've driven it for over 1 hour since, and it still does that. At WOT, it behaves ok, but if I'm just cruising with traffic flow, or want to accelerate slowly it sputters. Did I get some crud from the bottom of my fuel tank into the injectors? Should I use one of those bottles of injector cleaner? My car is Supercharged (EVO) does that make a difference? Any prefered brand?
  5. Loren the FAQ saysyou can't get PCM codes, but what about NAVI codes? My PCM is ok, I have the code for it, but the CD driive for the Navi fried, so I bought a used one from a junkyard, but no code for the new unit. My old code did not work. So now I have radio functions but no navigation. Siemens Navigation Unit Porsche part number 996.642.122.03 Serial number PO2210161B22F
  6. It was installed by EVO in AZ Took it to an Indy and he said he tracked it down to the oil cooler. Is that on the right side of the engine?
  7. Thanks I'll check the oil filter It's a EVO supercharger. As to confirm where exactely it is leaking from, that has proved to be quite difficult. I just can't seem to pinpoint it. The valve idea came from the dealer
  8. I have a '02 C4 that is Supercharged, but now it is spraying oil from the right side of the engine. It does it only when it is being driven not revved while stopped. I was told that may be because a valve on the engine designed to open when the pressure gets too much is probably faulty and is opening too soon Anybody heard of such a valve? And does it break?
  9. Took my C4 cab to a supposedly really good alignment shop, and now I don't like the way the car handles. It seems "floaty" whereas before it was solid. The guy said he needed to know the settings in order to better set the alignment. So Anybody know what the settings are for a 2002 Carrera 4 Cabriolet with ROW M030 suspension?
  10. Loren the PDF file above is not opening. All I get is an error message. P.S: I just sent in my contribution through Paypal. I hope everyone will do the same so this site can stay up and running! Thanks for all the help guys :clapping:
  11. Hroussard, this is an old thread that I revived. I think they are done working there as the thread dates back to Nov 03.
  12. Tnaks Toolpants, I think I found the right one. Now to test it I will have to disable the speed sensor wire going to the top module in the back of the car.
  13. I get the smoke on startup a lot. It's annoying, but quite harmeless
