I will look at the radiators. I will also get a price for new radiators. I heard that you need a negative suction pump to fill it. I also heard that you can just fill it and keep adding fluid for a while. Thanks for all the replies. Paul
PAULSPEED posted a topic in 997-1 Series (Carrera, Carrera 4, Carrera 2S, Carrera 4S)Went for a spirited drive up to the top of Mount Hamilton. The car water temperature is normal at 210F. Near the top of the mountain I was looking at 240F. Is this too hot. I have cleaned out the radiators a few years ago. The car has 130,000 miles on it. I blew up the motor at Buttonwillow Race track. I had a new factory rebuilt motor installed around 60,000 miles. Should a 70,000 motor take these 240F temperatures. Luckie for me it was only near the top of the mountain. Thanks for any replies.

Thank you for your reply. The oil sender is broken. He bought a new one for over $140 his costs. He is going to lift the car and then lower the motor. He hopes he can get his hands up on top of the motor to remove and install the oil sender. Wish there was a easier way to do this. Paul
The problem with the car is when you turn on the ignition (engine off) the oil pressure gauge goes to max pressure. We know it is not the sender because we disconnected both wires and still the same problem. We also know that it is not the gauge, tried another and the same problem. So most likely it is a grounded wire somewhere between the gauge and the sender. I also disconnected all wires to the engine so the short is not on the engine. Most German cars usually have the same kinds of problems so if someone else has had this the short may be in the same place. Thanks in advance for any help. My friend is having problems with a 1997 993. When you turn on the key, the warning lights stay on and the pressure switch shows high. He has replaced the instrument cluster and replaced the oil pressure switch and this still has not fixed the problem. He thinks that a wire is being pinched to cause this. Has anyone ever have this problem? Thanks again for any responses. Paul
I just broke another one. There is not much you can do to improve the life of the links. The banjo bolt produces a lot of vertical stress. The threads on the nuts wear out. I have to dig under my car but I think the banjo bolt sheared at the threads. Yes I have a bigger a thicker sway bar to reduce roll. Paul
