  1. I drove a 4S, it took a while before my left foot on longer wanted to push in the clutch. It still is allot like an automatic with 8 speeds. I wounder how long that will last before it needs repair. They say for the life of the car, and I think I have heard that before also. It was allot of fun, and you can't over rev on a downshift, but I think I'll stick with a stick for a while. :D
  2. You get what you pay for, only with Porsche it costs more. I love the Xenon lights, Just get the S and the package that has all the goodies, I like the 19" Carrera Classic wheels, but to save a few bucks you can get them later. I don’t think the Full Climate control is worth it however, I know when I’m too warm or cold. Here is what I got on my wife’s 07S. 19"Carrera Classic Wheels Roll Bar Painted Exterior Color Bi-Xenon Headlamps Heated Leather Sport Seats Porsche Crest in Headrest Self Dim Mirrors and Rain Sensor Bose High End Sound System My 06S has about the same package and I am very happy with it. 3. That space I believe is an airtight space where the spare tire is located, with a seal around the front trunk lid. I don’t remember any filters in that area on my 986. Maybe Tool Pants or Loren could shed some light on the subject. ;)
  4. Yes, that’s what I hear also. They should be at the dealer by September and later in the year for RoW, and ALL Brown for the kick-off,… I guess it looks good with the Yellow brakes. But I’ll take one any color, even Brown, if someone wants to donate. :)
  5. This is a great seller on Ebay item # 150127377989, from egdecals High quality, and the price is right. I used them on my windstop. http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?&..._7_490.jpg' I got them in 2 days, from NY to Oregon
  6. Loren is correct as usual, I did not like the standard 987S tip, so I changed it. About $400 later. http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?&...605&CID=572 Just FYI :)
  7. :offtopic: I stoppped by the BMW dealer today to return the big bow borrowed to surprise the wife. I took a seat in the new Z4 Coupe - much smaller than an M5! The local paper's auto writer called it the "Cayman killer" at $20K less and 255 HP. I can't believe I can buy a brand new 2007 Z4 for the same price I paid for my 99 C2 three years ago. Humm.... Someone dropped him on his head as a child
  8. I think you have 90 days to the second to post feedback on Ebay. If you are worried about bad feedback, wait 89 days 23 hours and 59 minutes, and then post your bad feedback. I look carefully at bad feedback on Ebay, and see if it looks legitimate to me, and who it is from, and their track record. ;)
  9. Porsche cars sitting, or stored, for more than a few day must have a tickle charger attached. It’s cheaper than replacing batteries that are dead. Was your local repair shop, a Porsche approved shop? Do they only work on, or have allot of experience with Porsche? PM Loren or Tool Pants and ask them for advice for mechanics in the Bay area. Sounds fishy to me, no pun intended. :)
  10. Thanks Loren, I guess my 06S is OK. Was it just the # 625 ##### engines in the 3.2L? Mine is Engine # 626 05###
  11. Or you could park it on the street, in front of the dealership, legally, With a large sign in the window that says, PIECE OF CRAP CAR, DEALER WON’T FIX, I would think they might even be happy to replace the faceplate. Check with your local police first to see if this is a problem, they might even like the idea. :D
  12. Thanks Guys, She really likes her new “Baby” and is anxious for 2K miles to go by so she can “make it roar”, and get a ticket. :drive:
  13. Yes, look at the image Tool Pants posted on the second link. Range 1 is 7,300-7,500 and Range 2 is 7,500 to 7,700 and Range 3 is 7,701 to 7,900. So the car was over the recommended 4,000 RPM’s if this occurred during the “break-in” period. A usual rule of thumb is about 35 miles per operating hour, so you can do the math. The DME will show you total ignitions and hours run at the LAST occurrence. If there are only a few, it may have only been one event. The most important thing is will the dealer support the factory warranty in writing knowing this. It’s probably fine, good luck. :)
  14. What Year? Check out: http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=10494 http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=9769
  15. My wife had a 03 986S, and she would let me drive on weekends, I loved it. When I purchased my 06 987S Boxster last summer, my wife said it would cost me. We ordered a 07S in November. Sunset Porsche was great, but the delivery was not in their control. Do you think it was hand built on the GT3RS line during a slow time? http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?&...tem&CID=616
