  1. Yesterday my car went haywire. Windows went down, alarm went off, horn blew, locks wouldn't work, dash lights came on with the key but nothing else. I could here the box under the seat clicking and when I investigated the floor under the seat was full of water. I recently had the car painted and it looks like its is now leaking. First, I need any hints I can get on most likely spots to check for a leak. Second, what is the box under the driver's seat. I though it was the ECU, but after a quick internet search is appears the ECU is inside the firewall. HELP!
  2. Hey great DYI. Can you tell me how you got the beauty ring to move? Mines in the 1 o'clock too. Thanks.
  3. Does anyone know where I can find a good DIY for replacing the window regulator on my 2002 Cab?
  4. Help- I am having a problem with the automatic window lift on my 02 cab and am looking for some help. The window seems to go down some when the door is opened, but when I close it the very top of the glass still hits the plastic edge on the convertable top. Once closed, the window goes up automatically as its supposed to. I found the post that explained how the window functions and removed the door panel so I could inspect the mechanism and check the switched as shown on the post and found that the window functioned properly with the door panel off. When I replaced it, the problem returned. To make matters worse, after disconnecting the door airbag, I now have an airbag malfunction warning when the car is started and the airbag light is lit. Any advice on fixing the window lift problem or getting the airbag light reset will be appreciated.
  5. The airbag light will also stay on if there is a problem with the seatbelts, i.e., the system doesnt see them. I think there is a technical bullitin on the issue
  6. I have a 2002 Cab with and X73 suspension kit. It currently has 18" Carrera II wheels, but I am looking at a set of 19's and need help figuring out what size wheels and tires will fit. Can anyone help me out?
  7. I installed a Schnell in my 02 996 about a year ago an love it. Its a high quality peice with stock height and appearance.
  8. Yes its easy. If you've ever changes pads before, your boxster should be a breeze. It takes me longer to jack the car and R&R the week then it does to change the pads.
  9. I've got an 02 C2 cab too and would like to upgrade the suspension. My last Porsche was a Boxster and it cornered like it was on rails. There's alot I love about my 911, but it tends to push the front tires and generally feels less settled when you drive it hard thru corners. From what I've been reading, lowing and upgrading the shocks and sway bars will significantly improve the cars balance. I'd like to improve the handling without making it too harsh. sounds like the two Porsche options are pretty good as well as the bilsteins. Does anyone know about the HR's. Also, would like to know opinions on swaybars to go with the bilsteins and or HR's. My experience is performance upgrades are all about the combination. Thanks
