  1. Loren, where was the typo?. Those are the parts I ordered from Jeff at Sunset, and he didn't mention a problem with the numbers. BTW they are ~ $100 less then the retail. Thanks David
  2. Thanks Loren, I'll drop Sunset a line, and hope they're not in the stratosphere price range
  3. I need the part # for a set of X51 Headers 9997S. I'M hoping they can be ordered without buying the whole system. Thanks
  4. How do you remove the ignition rosette from the dash?. In My 996 I think I remember using a small screwdriver somewhere. I want to send it off to Bumperplugs for painting Thanks David
  5. George gave me the info on removal if anyone is interested. Pry from below with a screwdriver, and it will slide off of its tabs to the top. FWIW, I replaced my plastic rest with the Porsche matching aluminum rest. Looks better, but for $160.00 I was disappointed at the quality, still mostly plastic with a little aluminum showing through.
  6. Thanks Paul, I can't see a way to get to the nut behind the pedal, maybe pull away the carpet from the top?? David
  7. I am switching from the factory rubber to the Aluminum foot rest and can't quite figure out how to remove the stcok rest. I saw a picture in a previous post about plastic nuts behind the rest, but cannot find a way to ge to them. Any help thanks in advance David
  8. Are these available?. I saw them on Porsche's site, under the "Marrone Metallic" Cab. http://www.porsche.com/usa/accessoriesands...arronemetallic/ Would like to get a set if I could get a part # I'll give sunset a call Thanks David
  9. I have read conflicting posts and order info (Sunset which has a with/without CD changer option) on which kit to order if no CD changer is present. If there is no CD changer order the kit that indicates with CD changer? . There's a y connector in the with CD kit thats needed?. I have a system with NAV, no CD changer Thanks, probably beaten to death but unclear.
  10. I emailed them, was quoted $974.75 plus shipping, it would take three days to get it in. Seems legit, but far from the Price list they have on the website
  11. It's a mystery to me Loren, I got the car new and it was like that from day one. I just assumed it was a new Porsche quirk ;) . Sounds like a dealer fix, if I can find one I trust enough to move wires
  12. I never realized it but my mirror switch for the exterior mirrors seems to be reversed. If you switch left it moves the passenger side, right the drivers. push down it moves up etc. I guess it's supposed to be that way?, after 2 years it just occurred to me that maybe it's not the way it's supposed to be.
  13. To remove the stock spoiler top. In the raised position, support the wing with pads or foam. You'll need a "C" spanner (looks like a "C" with a notch, similar to the tool to adjust shocks. You'll turn the support pillars counter- clockwise with the spanner. You can also try a rubber strap type wrench to turn the outer tubes. Lift up on the wing and remove
  14. FUEL LEVEL DISPLAY Problem If the power supply is interrupted by a discharged or disconnected battery with the tank containing less than 19 I, the calculated value for the range on remaining fuel in the instrument cluster will be incorrect or deleted. If the tank contains less than 10 I, it is possible that the fuel level warning light is no longer activated. If the power supply is restored with the fuel level at less than 19 I, it is possible that the fuel level display may subsequently display too much. This may lead to the vehicle breaking down. Remedy Refill at least 19 I of fuel; then the fuel level sensor is in operating range and its display precision is guaranteed.
