  1. The dealership said the same thing of my 2002 Carrera TIP; finally, after complaining that I felt the clunk "hard downshift" was excessive, they changed the throttle body (under warranty) to the transmission, and lo and behold the clunk was gone for good.
  2. So it's confirmed: 325's on the rear do NOT fit. They rub against the wheel well...:(...
  3. Hi All, I am looking at replacing my Pirelli Corsa System tires on my 2010 GT3 and I am having trouble getting the right size for the rears. I am really happy with the Corsa Systems be cause they are still drive-able in rain (front tires channel water better than the MPSC's and they have lasted almost 12,000 km, including doing some driver's ed. I also want to stay with Porsche approved tires. Problem is the right size of Corsa Systems have been on back-order with Tirerack for months and i am running out of tread and time. Can i put 325/30ZR 19's on the back (I know the rim width is OK at 12 inches) but what issues can I expect? Will I have rubbing issues with the bodywork or suspension parts, or handling issues that I should be aware of and stay away from? Any other thoughts and comments would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!!!!
  4. Try a hair dryer. Warm the label using the high setting, and then just peel the sticker off. The glue becomes very "compliant" when warm. I took both back seat stickers off in 2 minutes wit no need for Goo Gone or any other adhesive remover :)
  5. Hi All, I just received upper side view mirror covers in carbon fiber and I need help in figuring out how to access behind the mirror for the side view mirrors. How do I remove the mirror itself??? I have some instructions for the 997 MK1, but I believe the design of the MK2's mirror assembly is different, and I don't want to break anything. Any help or a guide like a service manual would be GREATLY appreciated!!! Thanks!
  6. I have the ROW M030. I LOVE this setup. And I am pretty demanding of my car. Way better than stock. I bought mine from Suncoast in Florida.
  7. Thanks for the link on pulling the CD holder out. However is there just a blank faceplate for that space (I want to mount the display unit on it)? Ron
  8. I want to pull out the existing CD holder in the lower centre console to locate and install an after-market TPMS (Orange Electronic). My understanding is that there are several options for replacing the CD holder, namely a cubby hole, and a cassette holder. However, is there also a blank face plate as an available option? If so, what would the part number be? Thanks in advance, Ron
  9. Yes, the light still works. I will look into the vaccuum lines and see if they are OK. The engine and transmission were taken out the other day by the Porsche dealership to fix the notorious RMS issue. Perhaps they didn't connect them again???? R.
  10. Hi everyone. I had the Porsche Sport Exhaust installed in 2005 with the optional switch to override the "sport" sound. I did the mod to eliminate the automatic speed control of the exhaust at that time. Up until the last few days everything was working just fine. Now I notice the switch to "quiet" the exhaust doesn't work. It's on "sport" all the time. Normally I drive the car on "sport" sound almost all the time, but once in a while I like the option of setting it on "quiet" mode. It's not the end of the world if I don't get it fixed but my "significant other" may feel otherwise (no, ear plugs for her are NOT an option!). Any thoughts or comments as to what the problem might be? What should I be doing to diagnose the problem? Thanks in advance!
  11. Use the 93 Octane. Better that than mixing. Think of the minimum as being 91 Octane. I believe the engine ECU will adjust favourably for the 93 Octane, meaning better performance and fuel economy. R.
  12. But wouldn't that also hold true with the manual transmission 996? I was under the belief that the DME is reprogrammed as part of the X51 upgrade?
