  1. Hi: I am looking to replace the stock 6spd shifter knob (& leather boot) with the OEM Tequiment carbon unit (which also has an aluminum ring at the base). I have noticed carbon 996/986S shifters on eBay. Has this part evolved over the course of 986/996 production? thanks, Bryan 03 986S
  2. I hear the same thing when I follow behind a van, etc. Most of the time I drive top down so it;s not a big problem. Let us know what you find out. Bryan
  3. Thanks. Removing the battery for 5 minutes did the trick.
  4. Ran my 03S today. After locking-up the red LED on the key head stays on. Tried my other key - works fine. Any ideas appreciated before calling service tomorrow.
  5. Jeff: thanks for the response (and sorry about the 996 post) Bryan
  6. Hi: would appreciate knowing the part number for the cargo(luggage?) net which I understand can be installed in the back trunk of a 986S, MY2003. I am trying to secure items in the rear trunk from moving about, and bouncing up onto the bottom of the lid. thanks. Bryan (edit -- moved to Boxster area, Loren)
  7. :clapping: thanks for establishing this site, great resource and community!!
  8. Nice instal. What year is your S? I need to double check the size of the sun sensor to see if it will fit my 03. Bryan
  9. Copied this information from an earlier Post on Rennlist: MOST (Media Oriented System Transport) is an optical bus which connects most all telematics in MY03 Porsches, MY03 Audi A8 and MY03 Mercedes Maybach and some S class cars. Details can be found here:www.mostnet.de/downloads/Specifications/ MOST%20Framework/framework1_1-07.pdfwww.oasis.com In Porsche sportscars (986 and 996) the fiber optic cables connect the headunit (PCM) to the DSP amplifier to the phone to the CD changer. Speakers are connected by Copper wires.
  10. I would like to instal an antenna for my hand held Garmin. Looking for a stock look, reduce clutter of cables, etc. Is it possible to utilize the antenna for the PCM II ? Can it be order separately from the PCM II (which I don't have). Does anyone know the part number? BTW I have an 03 986 S. Bryan
