  1. Thanks Richard. There is a high-end Porsche aftermarket service center quite nearby and I bet they have the computer to do so. Printed out your post to show them. Thanks! Don in Sunny Los Angeles
  2. Frustrating thing that I just cannot seem to solve with 00' Boxster S. Interior lights will not come on when the door(s) are opened. Once the key is inserted all works properly. Is a bit of a hassle at night obviously. Seems like a logic thing but I am hitting a wall with searches. Most suggest it's a dealer computer enabled delivery issue but other problems are said to co-exist with this cause and I just haven't seen them. The car has the all-in-one three-way interior light. Have solved every other issue since buying the car and hate to give in now... Thanks Don
  3. And N41EF...thanks to you too. Keep em' level.
  4. Thanks Loren. All makes sense. My inside light is the three-way all-in-one light. Of course, the manual demos the other version with the switch. Weird. I might re-name my car Frakenstein. I've read all kinds of opinions of which most seem to think it's still in "ship" mode but I'm not so sure. It is the single most frustrating thing with the car as I have solved/replaced most everything else possible on the thing. Just finished the sound system and Litronics sensors and mounts. The interior lights work properly in every other way once the key is in.... Thanks again Loren. Appreciate all your input. Don
  5. Greetings, I have a 00' Boxster S and have an On-Board Computer issue. The manual the dealer gave me with the car clearly shows how the computer should operate, access menus etc. I am unable to get to the menus that it shows. All I am able to access are the top level operations i.e. outside temp, speed limit warning, mpg, mph and range. I also have issues with the inside lights not coming on when the doors are opened. Looking around the forums here I am wondering if the computer and lights are related issues via the car not completely out of "safe" or "ship" mode. Am I barking up the wrong tree? The service guy at the Beverly Hills Porsche dealer even stated out loud that he wasn't sure that the 00's came with the full function computer. I am so confused... Thanks for any input! Don
  6. Hi All, I am about to buy a good multichannel amp to replace the underpowered M680 in my car. Here's the rub...I'd like to keep the DSP unit as I kinda like the sound of the thing. Does anyone have a wiring schematic of the Head Unit CDR220 to the M680 amp...line outs of front, rear, door "subs" and where/how the heck the DSP connects to the amp? Much appreciate any info or advise. Donny 2000 Boxster S...and almost brought back to new...almost!
  7. I have just finished installing the PNY rear speakers and now want to attack the door "subs". I have decided how to mod the doors but I cannot seem to find the proper way to feed what will be another new sub amp. I would like to take the feed into the MP680 and re-direct it to the new amp. I appreciate any and all answers. Don in very sunny SoCal
  8. Another item on my Boxster Project to solve.. 2000 S steering wheel will not telescope. The release mechanism seems to be working properly on the underside of the column and I've pushed and pulled on the thing to the point I'm leery of damaging it. Is this a rare problem to have and is there a trick to unstick the thing? Wife is 5'2" and I'm quite a bit longer and we could use the adjustment. Thanks for any advise. Don
  9. Sounds like a good suspect. Nothing called such in the repair manual, the German to English translation thing... Please give me some insight as to where to find the thing. I'm all over it tomorrow. Much thanks, Don Here's a link ....good luck http://sites.google....hvacblowermotor Thanks much. Great link. I need to lose 15 pounds to squeeze under this little P Car for sure.
  10. Sounds like a good suspect. Nothing called such in the repair manual, the German to English translation thing... Please give me some insight as to where to find the thing. I'm all over it tomorrow. Much thanks, Don
  11. Nice day, too much Red Bull...too windy to fly. Took the wheel and liner off, lubed the suspect fan and finally poked around and paid attention. Seems the groan is from the passenger side INSIDE. It only appears when the AC switch in on, not during fresh air fan operation. Diving into the barely helpful manual... Must be a cold air pump or AC only interior fan?? Seems weird. Cheers, Neophite
  12. Ordered a Litronics sensor today from the dealer and he seems to think the fans don't code either. He's no Einstein and grupmy. Try to avoid them and support my independent parts houses but didn't meet the minimum order amount. Thanks for the help guys. Not a 60s muscle car that I'm comfortable with but after this project maybe I'll start contributing instead of leaching info. Thanks again and Cheers...off to the garage. Don
  13. Need to look at and possibly replace the AC Condenser fan in an 00' Boxster S. In the repair manual it says to remove the front tire...doesn't say which. Anyone know? I am thinking the right but don't want to waste time and cuss too much. Thanks for info. Don Wilson
  14. Loren, Again, many thanks for the part number. Have had an NSX for years and it's just not possible to find people with the info you guys here have, makes the Boxster S project much fun. The part number you provided, 996.341.371.03, seems to be available at a parts house in NC but their minimum order is well above the price of this part. I will attempt to order through the dealer tomorrow but it's a pain to get there. Have you suggestions of a good place to order from? Also, it looks like the part snaps into the suspension arm, do you have any experience with it and am I correct in my assumption? Thanks for you time. Best, Don
  15. Sorry. Looking at the drawing you posted part #21 is missing. The other two assemblies on the rear wheels are OK. Item 21 996.341.371.03 Support -- US MSRP $3.80 Thanks Loren.
