  1. Hi Jemy,

was was the solution of the faults you described in April 2015?

  2. Did you get this resolved? have similar symptoms on my Porsche 996 C4S, I had the Variocam actuators replaced, and the misfire was cured, 3 months later the same fault codes and a very sporadic misfire has occurred.... very frustrating P1371 - Valve lift control checksum error P1360 - Valve lift control Cylinder 6 P0300 Misfire detection (total) P0306 Misfire Cylinder 6 Any suggestions?
  3. I had the following error codes registered and a very erratic tickover when idle, I had both Variocam actuators replaced, 3 months ago, and I have again got the same error codes as I had before the actuators were fitted: P0300 - misfire detection P0306 - misfire cylinder 6 P1371 - valve lift control checksum error P1360 - valve lift control cylinder 6 The misfire is very sporadic, it does not have any regularity to it, it can happen when the car is first started, or when the car is warm, and when the misfire occurs the car can be driven and at the end of the journey (sometimes) the misfire is no longer evident. to add to the confusion the car can also be driven for days with no misfiring, the problem (whatever it is) is very intermitant. These error codes are the same as before I had the new Variocam actuators fitted...any ideas anyone? Getting frustrated now...!! My car is a 2004 Porsche 996 C4S with 129000 km on the odometer
  4. I had both Variocam actuators replaced, 3 months ago, and I have again got the following error codes: P0300 - misfire detection P0306 - misfire cylinder 6 P1371 - valve lift control checksum error P1360 - valve lift control cylinder 6 These are the same as before I had the befite the new Variocam actuators fitted... Getting frustrated now...!!
  5. I'll take your word for it, I did not replace my actuators
  6. This is what the the Variocam solenoid looks like on a Porsche 996: http://rennlist.com/forums/996-forum/651593-wtb-variocam-actuator-and-solenoid.html Not sure what they are in your photo
  7. I have no clue, this does not apprear to be a photo of a Porsche 996 3.6 engine...?
  8. Finally got this resolved, new variomatic actuators fitted, no flat spots at all anymore, didn't need to get coil packs replaced or new spark plugs
  9. I have a 2004 (996) Carrera 4 S with 124,000 kmh on the odometer
  10. I received the error codes recently and a local Porsche specialist located in the UAE wanted to charge me a minimum of $6000 up to $20000 to rectify it, a non Porsche specialist resolved everything for $4000 beware Porsche main dealers or for that matter even Porsche specialists I got both the variocam actuators replaced and hydraulic pipelines and so far so good..!!
  11. In 40 degree heat and 100% humidity I removed the throttle body off the car..... After a thorough cleaning, I then reinstalled it and sadly it has not made a jot of difference.....
  12. I have a 2004 Porsche 996 C4S with Tiptronic and I live in the UAE where the summer temperatures are +40C for 4 to 5 months. When I start the car from 'cold' bearing in mind the car bnever really cools down here even though the car is always parked in a basement car park, after I have engaged drive and started to move forwards, the car sometimes feels like it might stall and has a momentary 'flat spot', after a few minutes the car's fine...... I've already changed the MAF, and no difference, could it be spark plugs or ignition coils or a combination of both? Any help would be greatly appreciated
