  1. Just to close out this thread. The car is in Good condition. The engine was swapped out to a '80 3.0 from an SC and runs strong and starts easy. The top is in Excellent condition with two "keys" to release the latches. The fenders were tacked on, but I don't think they blended the welds very well since you can see where they tacked. All-in-all, it appeared to be a decent car if you're not looking for the appreciate that the name has had as of late. But without him budging on the price, I'm going to take Johan's suggestion and pass it up. Thanks again for all the input gentlemen! Anthony
  2. Much appreciated insight, Johan! I'll have a look over on Pelican Parts as well.
  3. Perfect. Here is the listing: http://tinyurl.com/jksenye The last picture on the rotation is the original car.
  4. Apologies for my mistype, Loren. The 'T' was intended to mean that this car was originally a targa model and was later converted to a cabriolet. If it's acceptable via forum rules, I'd be happy to post the listing with all the pictures to include the original state of the car pre-cab conversion.
  5. Hello all, A listing popped up for a 1974 911T. It was converted from a Targa to a cabriolet with the top appearing to be in good condition still. Ad states that it's a rust-free car with an incorrect odometer (showing 5200 which was reset after cab conversion). It's in running condition, but the current owner says the break cylinder leaks. I'm going to have a look at it tomorrow and would like to go as prepared as I can and know what to look for. Below is the chassis and engine numbers if they help at all? They're asking € 25.000 and I'd like to have an arguement ready to bring that price down if it's not worth that much. Interior looks great, paint is in great condition as far as I can tell but any additional insight would be immensely helpful! Thanks in advance Chassis 9114112441 Engine 6403889
  6. Old topic, but I just had the same issue arise. I found a crack in, what I believe is the #9 line. It's blue and I'm wondering if there is any way to confirm that is the line that I need. There is a small crack right where the line clips to the underside of the car just behind the front left wheel. Any information would be greatly appreciated. MY00 986 77k miles
  7. Hi all! Just curious on the thoughts of other owners of the base model Cayenne. I'm contemplating trading in my MY00 Boxster and selling my '88 Silverado to acquire an MY04 or 05 Cayenne. I love my Boxster and it's a blast to drive, but it's just too impractical for where I'm at in my life right now. The truck is just old and about to the point of automotive suicide. So, I just want to hear some reviews on the base model Cayenne or if I would be better off searching for a newer Silverado. Any suggestions/information would be greatly appreciated :) I don't normally scan the Cayenne threads, but I'll check back every so often. Feel free to PM me your story. Thanks all, hope to hear some good things!
  8. My 88 Silverado broke down last November, which I was using as my daily driver/utility vehicle, and I didn't have the time to fix it. No matter what kind of mood I was in, getting in my Boxster always made me happier instantly. It was my daily drive for about six months until I finally got around to fixing my truck. I try not to drive it as much to keep the miles low, only 66k for an MY00 so I can still get solid resale for it, if that's what it comes too. My Boxster handled just fine during the GA winters, but we didn't have any snow, some ice and it slid like any other vehicle would, but I had no problems with mine. As everyone else is saying, you can't fit a whole lot into it, that's why I've got my truck. Same rule of thumb goes for me as it does N41EF. If I know I'm going to be driving people around or picking something up, I'll take the truck, otherwise, I prefer the car. Not to mention the mpg is twice what my truck gets, lol. And still half as much to fill up, even with premium.
  9. Greg, I had this same issue happen to me. My remedy was to jack up the front left side and crank my wheel to the right so I could fit underneath (I'm not a real big guy so was a little easier for me) Pull back/off the plastic lining and there will be a hose in there that goes to a connection point right above the wheel well. The hose goes back on there. I've done this twice, first time it came off after a few shots of the fluid, second time I gave it a good strong push back on there and haven't had an issue since. I thought about putting a screw clamp, but haven't found one small enough and don't want to pull the wheel off. If you have a camera with flash, try snapping a few pictures so you can see a little easier before you get in there. Helped me a bit more. Hope this helps!
  10. I've actually had the same issue with the windshield wiper fluid line coming off. It's quite a simple fix. Personally I don't need to take the wheel off but I'm not the biggest guy. I jack the car up all the way and crank the wheel to the right and I can get in just enough to pull back the lining and fit the line back on the connection point. I've though about getting a small screw clamp but I still trying to find one that small. Best of luck, the car looks great.
  11. The windows on my MY00 don't go up after I latch, takes me a minute to figure out why it's still chilly in my cabin.
  12. Howdy fellow Renntechy's, I've been looking at possibly upgrading to an MY05 or newer Boxster S/MY06 Cayman S. If I upgraded I was looking that the Borla exhaust packages. For the time being I feel it would be more cost effective for me to stay with my MY00 Boxster 2.7L. My question is, would a Borla exhaust kit fit on a non S model Boxster? Any information would be good. I've heard the sound of Borla and nothing else sounds as good. I've seen and heard a bunch of videos and other sound clips and heard a few different models with different packages on them and I just keep coming back to the sound of Borla. Thanks for all of your help.
  13. Howdy folks, So, I recently washed my car and noticed a good size crack along my right rear rim. I'm not sure if the rim itself is cracked or if it's a paint crack. I've eased up on driving the car until I can figure the situation out. With the exception of wheelenhancement.com, are there any other good sites out there that offer any type of Porsche rims or any suggestions on others. I'd like to stick with 17" or 18", don't really want to go much bigger than that. I've been on ebay and craigslist and haven't had much luck. Thanks everyone. Anthony I can attach a photo this evening to see if anyone can confirm if it's paint or the wheel itself if that helps.
  14. Pk2, I know what the problem with the windshield wiper fluid is, I just need to figure out how to secure it. The hose in the wheel well that's covered by the plastic liner fell off, I think I need to get a screw clamp or something to keep it on there, already put it on once and it fell off again. Loren, I think my car is screwing with me. I took it for a drive tonight and the e-brake light worked just fine for when I wanted to drop my top. I think when I get back from vacation I might just put in a B&M short throw and replace that microswitch at the same time.
  15. Hey y'all. So, yesterday my e-brake light just decided to start acting up. I'm not sure if it's the cluster lights altogether because my windshield wiper fluid light goes on and off, I know it's empty but sometimes it won't be lit, sometimes it will. Any suggestions? Fuse maybe? I can fenagle the e-brake to a very small sweet spot where the light will come on so I can lower the roof, but it's just such a pain.
  16. Congratulations, Tawheed. Looks to be a fantastic purchase. I got my MY00 986 back in March and am in love with the car maker. My dream car is currently an MY07-MY09 Cayman S. I've done some looking into different exhausts and am a huge fan of Borla. Makes me giddier than a 12 year old school girl at a Backstreet Boys concert :drive: Enjoy the new ride.
  17. Out of curiousity, usaf-lt-g. Would that happen to be Lt. G or Lt. General?

  18. So my wiper fluid light came on a few days ago. When I filled up the reservoir and triggered the switch for a few seconds I got nothing. I opened the door and all the fluid was leaking, correction, pouring out under the car. Has anyone encountered this problem? I disassembled what I could in a parking lot without tools and couldn't find any leaks, so I'm thinking it's between the panel in the front trunk and the wheel well. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
  19. I hope it hasn't gone out of business. I've been looking at that Zeintech top for quit awhile working on saving up for one.
  20. Loren I've definitely been reading as much as I possibly can, believe me. I don't do things until I have as much knowledge as I possibly can, especially with this type of vehicle. I'm just doing my best to baby my car because it's my first one and I want to keep it around awhile :) Jmatta Things to stay away from is very helpful. I was planning on sticking with a 10W40 it is just a matter of figuring out what name to buy from. Thank you all for the input.
