  1. I have a 2011 c4s with about 16000 miles. Last week I got the "transmission emergency run" error and took it in to the dealer. The dealer game me a nearlly identical (except for interior and sports exhaust) car for a loaner. This loaner car is much more responsive and quicker than my car. The dealer has no explanation. What could be the cause of this difference? The accelerator on this car is a lot easier to press , as though the spring tension is lighter, than my car Any ideas? Thanks
  2. I was trying to remove the airbox and can't get the mass air flow sensor plug off. Here's a picture of the plug
  3. Just had the oil changed on my 1999 carrera 4 and found rubber band like pieces in the oil filter. The pieces are of uniform width, approximately semicircular in cross section and even rubber band brown in color , and soft in consistency. I have had the IMS bearing upgrade, . There are about 56k miles on the car, about 12000 since the upgrade. Any ideas? thanks
  4. Hi Loren , thanks for the info. I got that (the "bl") from the sticker . I have a list of option codes from a sheet that the dealer gave me, but I don't see much on there that relates to leather other than 981 and 982. There are a few codes that aren't on your list, (426,429,434,912) Thanks again Mike
  5. Hello The option codes were BL for black optional leather interior and 982 for supple leather front and rear. thanks
  6. Does anyone know what the "black opt leather interior" option included in 1999?
  7. Is this horn still available? Or are there alternatives? One of my horns is out and if I'm going to go to the trouble of pulling the bumper, I'd like something better, if possible. Thanks
  8. I just got this 996 carrera 4 a few weeks ago and noticed that the display show about 3 segments low. Didn't have the owner;s manual with me so I assumed (incorrectly) that that meant about 1.5 quarts low, so I added a quart. Now it shows over full and the dipstick level (I forgot it had a dipstick) shows just above the "bead". should I drain some out?
  9. Thanks, but the problem is that my car doesn't have that option on the menu. For some reason, they have disabled it. I don't know what the real reason is, other than it doesn't seem to be enabled on US cars. Unless anyone knows differently
  10. I have a 2010 panamera turbo. According to the manual, it's possible to set the assignment of the MFS button (on the left side of the steering wheel, has a "diamond" on it, see pages 115-116, and 151 ) On my car, the menu specified by the manual is not there. The dealer says that's only for the European cars. Anyone have any experience with this?
  11. Ok thanks. My real question is, does it have overboost. I notice that the 640 option is much more expensive in the Turbo than in the other models.
  12. I just bought a 2010 Panamera Turbo. The sticker says it has Sports Chrono Plus, rather than Sports Chrono Turbo. Were these both available for the Turbo model? If so , is it possible to upgrade to the Turbo version? thanks
  13. No codes. There weren't even any when the car was programmed incorrectly.
  14. I have a 2009 Cayenne Turbo S that I'm experiencing erratic performance with, that is, sometimes the acceleration is not what it should be. When it's doing that, I also get the impression that the engine is lugging when running at relatively low speeds (50-60 mph) in 6th gear. If I put it in "Sport" mode it seems to be behaving normally. When I first got the car, the dealer discovered that it had been programmed ("flashed") as a Turbo instead of a Turbo S. That was thought to be the culprit, but the problem still seems to occur. Anybody have any experience with this? thanks in advance
