  1. Dealer wants $1450 to replace just the amp. Guess I'm off to look at alternatives.
  2. 2012 Base boxster with Bose sound. Had the passenger side drain clog, with resultant water under the passenger side seat. Part of the collateral damage is now no sound from any source, i.e Radio, Aux, CD or Phone. The radio works as far as I can tell. I understand that the amp in this MY is located under the passenger seat. When I moved the seat forward to squeegee out the water, I noticed what appeared to be a slight burn mark on the carpet near the rear right hand seat rail. So, is this possibly a fuse on the stock Bose amp? If so, what type? I imagine I will have to pull the seat to get to it, but I also think there is an airbag cable\sensor there, so don't want to turn that idiot light on. If I have to go the route of replacing the amp, what specs hsould I be looking for, as far as wiring, etc? All advice welcome. Thanks in advance!
  3. Hi, After test driving a number of sports cars, I am contemplating a Boxster. Unfortunately, the dealer I went to was a bit disappointing. Apparently Porshce has cut US stock by 50% over the last few years, and current inventory is severely limited. One other odd thing I noted was that whrn I enquired about launch control, the salesperson relayed to me that he had "heard over in the service lanes" that more than 4 activations was potential for voiding the warranty. I was a bit aghast at this revelation, as it is promoted prominently with a video on the PUSA web site, and I have found no written exclusion in any of the warrenty info. That said, essentially I am looking for a Boxster with PDK, Chrono package and heated seats, Premium soud system a plus. Should I just go ahead and order it, or if I were to look at used, what years should I look for, should I go for an extended warranty, etc. My impression is that these cars are fun, but "high-maintenance". Thoughts?
